Does anybody know when and where NO played 1963 live? I just really, really love that song and i'd like to get some live versions of it. Is live version of 1963 published on any album or do I have to search a bootleg version of it (Couldn't find it on Kazaa nor Winmx..)

I don't think it's been played live many times. Definitely played it at B'ham NEC in March 1989 though.

After an extensive research (actually I just did a search at Waterrat's gigography) I discovered that New Order played this song 19 times, all of them in either 1987 or 1989.

Looks about right to me. There's a few US 89 shows that haven't surfaced on tape, and the good news is that I've only got 4 of the 15 recordings ! Reading, Pittsburgh, Glasgow and Birmingham. I gave up collecting after Birmingham 89 for 12 years, and never did get Lyon or the other one before Glasgow, so if anyone has good copies of gigs from this era, and fancies a trade, then please let me know !
i saw them play a pretty shocking version at reading university in one of the strangest gigs i have been to....
generally a good period live for the order but they were very poor that night...not helped by a crap venue and strange crowd..

Strange set as well, though quite a decent recording. Nice to get Lonesome Tonight at the end.

So you mean I should do a search engine for our concert database :-)
Ours is most complete since you sent us many missing shows and I had lots of corrections over they years. But we built our system on Lars Nelleman's list of shows and completed it with Water Rat's list.. but it's pretty complete, I know Benny started to fix things a little, but well.. it's not accurate of course.

Yours is the most complete (with setlists, ticket scans, pictures and users' reviews) but it's terrible to find a song there. That's why I prefer to use Waterrat's. With all songs in the same page, a simple "Ctrl-F" can sort it out.
Yes, but my goal will be achieved (sp?) one day.. the song page will have "this song has been played live x times, click here to see the list" and it will show you the list of concert and venues in chronological order and you will be able to access the concert page from there as well.
Right now, you have a list of releases where the song is, the list of cover versions (added yesterday!) and the list of existing versions, as well as lyrics, credits and release notes.
Audio samples of course.
I will try to enhance this format, maybe I should only list "Artists that has covered this song" with a link to see the versions and releases including this song...
Anyone with ideas would be welcomed!!

yes strange night all round...before they came on there was a "disco" of sorts...and the last song played was thieves like us....then about 5 mins later the order took the stage..they never played thieves but as you say lonesome tonight is much preferable as a live track...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining as I do like your concerts page. I just think it's hard to search for a song (as you said you'll solve this in the future) and...
... I don't like to see the gigs divided by "tour"! For instance, there were no Warsaw/Unknown Pleasures/Closer tours. It's bollocks. Maybe dividing the gigs by year it will make more sense.

I have to agree there Ricardo - arranging the gigs by year makes far more sense, and also takes away this unfortunate notion of New Order being lumped in with "stadium bands" that do these huge tours to coincide with an album. It's possibly the only bit of this site that hints at a bit of unfamiliarity with the way they do things.
