Been listening to a bit of Ennio Morricone lately - the guy behind the music for a lot of the Spaghetti Westerns. It's mostly great stuff but what struck me was the idea that Barny composed "Elegia" after overdosing on Morricone. The use of dynamics in Elegia is almost identical to the way Morricone does it.
Also I remember Barny on a Peel Show picking a Morricone track as one of his faves.
