Responding to another thread got me thinking. OK, we've had Preston and Les Bains Douches released as JD live albums, plus the live stuff on Heart and Soul, but are there any more suitable gigs out there for release ? There's quite a few that would have suitable sound (particularly High Wycombe Town Hall 20/2/80 which is excellent), and as long as there's a target market.....
As for New Order, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad thing for them to release some old shows along the same lines as Preston/Paris. There's plenty of really good shows, warts and all, that wouldn't need any enhancement, and to my mind it makes a lot of sense for them to seize the moment and stick out maybe an 81, 82 or 83 gig, none of which will be too long, and would have some interesting songs on there. I've been listening to some US 83 shows recently, all good stuff and featuring two albums plus the various singles (and short format Blue Monday).
