It's Ian Curtis's ghost whispering in Barney's ears that he looks ridiculous when he dances.
What you are referring to (and which we should add to our FAQ section if we were less lazy) is this:
My name's ....(can't remember -- is it Jenny?)My name's Ben.
Stephen Morris thought this sounded like Philip Glass and found it to be very arty.
come to think of it, 'elegia' does sound a bit like glass...or like the kronos quartet. it would have sounded perfect in the kronos quartet-scored 'requiem for a dream'. fantastic and disturbing film.
Love the film and own the soundtrack too.. Elegia would have fitted in perfectly indeed. Maybe for the ending credit..?
I liked 'requiem' but it is too disturbing to have a New Order song attached to it. It would be creepy to hear Elegia and remember the ending sequence.
Both the soundtrack and the remix of the soundtrack are great though.
i think hearing 'elegia' first in pretty in pink and then requiem for a dream would have made for an interesting juxtaposition.
the words arent lyrics at all, its a demo so i think its somebody giving instructions on the change or something, well that my theory anyway
