OK folks, if this has been already done, please forgive me and do not throw me rocks, just answer it anyway. The question is:

"What would be the NO cover of your dreams?"

Imagine a song that you would LOVE to see NO recording or playing live, and why. OF COURSE it can not be a Joy Division song.

So, I'll start. A-ham... (cleaning throat):

The NO cover of my dreams would be an unique version of "Atomic", by Blondie. Even though lyrics would sound a little bit silly in Barney's mouth - imagine the man singing "Uh-huh make me tonight" or "oh, you hair is beautiful" - but hasn't he written lyrics about green/blue/gray eyes anyway?

The guitar riff would also match perfectly with Hooky's style... and it is also an enjoyably dancing tune!!

So, my fellows Fab-Manc-4, what are you waiting to record it??? Start practicing now!!!

Barney singing "Oh your hair is beautiful" is indeed most amusing:nod:

Right, here goes....New Order singing "Rabbit" by Chas n Dave....that would really make my day!

Allegedly, the band used to play this in the soundcheck around the time of Low-Life:nod:

i would love to hear them cover Iggy Pop's "The Passenger." that song is absolutely incredible, and i think they could add some good synth lines to the chorus. and for some unknown reason, i feel like Barney could actually do a good job on vocals. and most certainly he could on guitar.

I'd love to see them cover almost anything by Radiohead, but most of all I guess I'd like to see them cover "Airbag", "Fake Plastic Trees", "No Surprises" and maybe "Sulk" thrown in for the fun of it.

I'd also like to see Torontonian singer Emm Gryner cover "Temptation" ...her album of covers "Girl Versions", proved that she and her piano are an awesome force, no matter what artist or genre she covers.

I was Kaiser Bill's Batman By Whistling Jack Smith would go down a storm especially if Barney replaced the whistling with whooping.

Too Many People by PSB. NO could have written it and it wouldn't sound any different.

Let's face it...

Total New Order influence by Corgan on that one!

Wish You Were Here, by the Floyd

Actually, going totally left-field here but wouldn't it be interesting to hear a Dylan cover? After hearing "Run Wild" I think it wouldn't be completely out of question, or maybe a Neil Young cover (Needle and the Damage Done :D, perhaps)

Dream On by Aerosmith or Rattlesnakes by Lloyd Cole & the Commotions would work nicely I think.

"Life" by Desree. I think it fits well with Barney's lyrical style.
