what's the one New Order song that just makes you feel so uberuberuberhappy that you just have to dance and burst? for me, it's probably Vanishing Point. the biggest runner up would have to be Love Vigilantes. sooooo good. yay!

i actually prefer the Substance mix. but the intro to the LP version is SOOOOO fabulous. it highlights how weird the chord progression actually is.
NO is damn good at unusual pop chord progressions. Blue Monday and BLT are good examples.

I listened to PCL on the bus the other day, and I swear the rest of the passengers thought I was an escapee from the nearest loonybin (y'know : smiling like an idiot, mouthing the words, just about stopping myself going "oo oo oo", pounding the bejesus out of the seat in a Stevey-stylee : that kinda thing

Yes! That's why this is also my favourite version of BLT. The lyrics are positively euphoric to this backdrop of the melody. Makes me jump around my room when it's on. 
Also the Substance version of Perfect Kiss, and Temptation, esp. the "Up down turn around..." part.
When I'm in a bad nightclub any New Order song played by the DJ makes me happy. :D

In A Lonely Place or Doubts Even Here. heh Kidding of course, though both are great songs. But seriously, Such A Good Thing is easily the song that makes me happiest. The runner up would be All The Way and Everyone Everywhere. Maybe Touched By The Hand Of God (if I ignore the lyrics) or Someone Like You. And whilew I'm rambling on, basically listing every New Order song ever written because they are all so good you just have to smile, notice how nobody has mentioned The Happy One? hehe Weird....
When I play 3 16, the combination of BLT, True Faith and Temptation always gets me going. As for studio recordings it would have to be BLT substance mix.
BLT off of the Married to the Mob Soundtrack, that version is more energetic than any of the other versions, and unlike the Substance version (which I love), keeps a hold of that beautiful bass playing. That being said, Temptation, and Regret also get me in a mood to lose my mind and act like a bit of an arse :).
Ceremony gets me punching the air every time, but for genuine sheer unbridled joy it has to be Temptation.
BLT off Substance. It never fails to make me smile.

BLT would be my happy song from New Order. An uplifting melody and just a feel-good song in general. It would be the substance version rather than the brotherhood version for me.
I know it isn't exactly the happy but another song that exites me is "ceremony". When they played it on 5:11 I almost soiled myself. Almost makes me wish I ditched the A-Levels and flew over to see them (and Air, who would be the kings of happy music IMHO) instead.
'BLT' (substance OR brotherhood) and 'here to stay'. i also like to drive along in my car and belt out 'such a good thing' with the wind blowing in my hair.... good stuff.

:) i can definitely relate. i often end up dancing in my chair while i'm eating a meal just because i have 5 8 6 stuck in my head or something.
Age of Consent is one i totally forgot about! that's such a joyous song for me.

the lines "up, down, turn around / please don't let me hit the ground / tonight i think i'll walk alone / i'll find myself as i go home" make me so happy. they're some of my favorite lines of all-time. such a fabulously wonderful song.

You're right about that version game, Chunks, but Temptation just always does it for me, wherever, whenever, however.

Mr Disco always brings a smile to my face as it reminds me of the aftershow party/ club from hell in Dallas in 1989. Talk about eyes wide open! I couldn't sleep for several days after. The club owner called it 'a gift from the Columbians'.
Barney was giving it some on the dance floor and the DJ kept turning the music down to tell whoever it was to stop whistling! lol

Round & Round. Hard to explain why. Memories maybe, as I said about another song on another thread.('Technique' is SOME album!). Also the video for 'Round & Round' ('Patti') is one of my favourites. Gorgeous doesn't even come close...
