largely by association, True Faith is rather melancholy for me, in addition to being happy. it seems too...intense...for me to call it an uberhappy song. but it's definitely a happy one.
Temptation - a song you should play to your loved ones at least once a year, a song of joy, a song for always. Best versions: Original 12" / Festival Hall '84.
On the radio, any NO or JD song makes me feel fully happy! Actually, this event makes my day... no, my week... perhaps my month!
In particular, "Blue Monday" and "Crystal" do this to me. And Blue Monday's starting drums (and programme) is a kind of narcotic to me...
Wow! ![]()
Hello there 24 Hour Party Peoples...my pick is definately "Temptation". Oh my that somg gets to me every time...and I'm not gonna play that darn version game either. I just love that song...
...and sometimes I'm in a "Ceremony" mood!
That's the gist! Have a grrrreat day!

Hey Wood...aren't you worried about your little red bow blowing off??!!
HTS is a grrrreat pick!

oh god. the opening beat of Blue Monday is so divine.
You're right about that version game, Chunks, but Temptation just always does it for me, wherever, whenever, however.
Sometimes I'm also in a Lonesome Tonight mood too. That one makes anything I'm thinking about just melt away. I think that's the first vote for LT in this forum!! Any others out there?
Mr Disco always brings a smile to my face as it reminds me of the aftershow party/ club from hell in Dallas in 1989. Talk about eyes wide open! I couldn't sleep for several days after. The club owner called it 'a gift from the Columbians'.
Barney was giving it some on the dance floor and the DJ kept turning the music down to tell whoever it was to stop whistling! lol
DM
we used to frequent a club in derby called the blue note...and the dj always played blt...after a few crates of red stripe this was always so much fun....

So many answers I could post but: Always: True Faith Recently: Here to Stay Live: Ceremony
Just listened to all 3 on MP3 in that order and am just off to play a game of footy. Think I'll be up for it now !! :D

Mr Disco! that song makes me smile quite a bit, as well. not by association, though; i just love it. :)
A toughie--60 Miles An Hour and BLT. Although BLT can be a bit wistful in parts, but it's still an uplifting tune. Maybe even,
Every time I see you fall I'll be there for you In the dead of night I'll get down on my knees I'm waiting for that final moment you Stand by my side like you always do
Temptation would sound too easy to choose so I choose Your Silent Face.. There's some really nice harmony!
Round & Round. Hard to explain why. Memories maybe, as I said about another song on another thread.('Technique' is SOME album!). Also the video for 'Round & Round' ('Patti') is one of my favourites. Gorgeous doesn't even come close...
