Gigs where same song played twice

What gigs did New Order play the same song more than once?

I think they did Blue Monday twice on one occasion. Also did Blue Monday/Love reaction (with Slim the roadie) at a gig in 1983 I think. Okay so it's not quite the same song, but almost qualifies.

This doesn't quite count, but at the Big Day Out last year in Auckland, whilst Prodigy were doing their set, the NO roadies were organising the sequencers and had Your Silent Face playing through the monitors (instrumental version :D), so I kinda got to hear KW1 twice which span my wheels. Of course you could only hear this up the front cause Prodigy where blasting on the adjacent stage.

Any other examples?

When they got Slim on stage that time I was pissing myself. Funny actually because the big guy at the time had a rather similar appearence to Arthur Baker (who has subsequently lost a shite load of weight...or has he given it to Barney?) and a few at the gig were convinced it was the NY dance producer. Detroit, Montreal and Glasgow 83 - Blue Monday twice. (Each time short version first then the long version later in the set)

I saw a bootleg video where they played Denial twice, I think it was in '82. Not sure.

Not at a gig......unless the Celebration TV special counts (they played several songs three times).

You just haven't lived until you've seen The Fall play the same track three times in succession (cos MES was unhappy with the performance of the first two....)

They sort of played Guilty Partner twice at the MENArena in 98 ;)

They started Perfect Kiss at Sobell Centre in 85, then stopped, went into Ceremony, and the did Perfect Kiss again afterwards. Technical difficulties I imagine

Yeah, the sequencer wouldn't load the second part of the track. That happened a few times around that era - also happened at Glasgow Barrowlands - Barney just rapped instead of starting a different song. Watching the Sobell video, Gillian is frantically trying to alert the rest of the band to the problem with the sequencer !

True, but that was surely two separate gigs at the same venue on the same night - different audiences after all ? Face Up was also played in both sets that night. They did the same thing in 1982 as well, played largely the same songs but in a different order, and rumour has it did the same thing in 86 (though only the one tape surfaced).

point taken....but for me it felt like one big gig.... funnily enough the audience for both gigs was pretty similar...everyone got kicked out the hacienda after the whistle test gig...(about 8.30 )....there is a massive pub opposite the hacienda which was heaving until about 11.00 when the doors re-opened at the hacienda....people who didnt have tickets for late show were purchasing them for obscene amounts of money from mancunian touts in that boozer..i remember for the first show i was pretty close to the front and got crushed to death...on the second set i legged it upstairs and got prime viewing slot on the balcony which virtually overlooks the stage...
