can someone tell me what this song is

i have this song on the end of a new order boot. i am not sure if it is even them. the song is 16:06. the opening sounds like the drum beat of blue monday but the rest of the song doesnt. the first verse goes something like this:

if i see another open window and see your big brown eyes i notice yourself in me and look again, and look again

i look everywhere but see nothing nothing at all, nothing at all see some of the time see some of the time i'll see some of the time see some of the time

must be "Das Boot" beneath the water surface. Sorry, couldn't resist after left vs right boot :)

Oh gawd, not this one again !

It's a song called "Love Dance" by a band called The Bridge, which was deliberately done to sound like New Order, and tacked on the end of the Hacienda 85 bootleg tapes by someone eager to get a scoop of the new unreleased New Order songs (that would have been BLT at that time). Looks as though the bootlegger got duped into thinking this Love Dance song was a New Order track - and ever since, this myth has been perpetuated.

I've actually got the 12 inch version of this (yes, you're right it was on at the end of the Hacienda bootlegs : I wrote to the bloke who did it, and he was convinced it was the Order - sceptical me has always said no).

The record comes in a lovely pink sleeve marked up "Export only". It's on the Second Vision label (cat no. SV12 EXP003 ) and is simply credited to The Bridge. It was produced by a guy called Paul Bell.

I think the only similarities between the Order and Love Dance are the basslines (very Hookyish) and the use of the ocarina
