A documentary on PBS in America once showed how after the test pressing for this track, it was taken to some club in NYC and played right away...Would the discography reflect this or would it reflect when it was actually recorded for an album/singles release if that was not the actual recording used?

Presumably the discography will list the date of the 12" single release, rather than its first playing at a club. Then again, I might be wrong.
