Having sat through hours and hours of the True Faith vid during the last week (I can only watch what is recording) I have decided on my next present to NewOrderOnline. Funnily enough, I haven't got tired of watching the video, and I have been watching other NO documentaries inbetween all my recording. There is a great documentary that was on MTV in 1989, called New Order "A True Story" where it tries to explain the bands appeal, and talks about their dry and arrogant sense of humour
There are some great quotes in these documentaries, so the project will be as follows :
I'm gonna dig out all my old cuttings, fanzines and trawl through some of the books on the band, then I'm gonna give the story in their words.....ie What did they think of each album, live performances, influences. I hope I won't be infringing on anyone's copywrite's, so I will give a mention at the end of the project to Magazine's, Newspapers and where possible the writer / journalist. No doubt it will take some time, but I'm sure Nic and Seb will agree it'll be a great addition to the website. I haven't got any power of technology at hand, so I will be relying on you guys to add pictures, links and basically to enhance my words.
This could take some time, but I relish a challenge, and doing it about something you love, makes it so much easier.
You'll be hearing more in the future;)

My big project will be to make the perfect cheeseburger. There have been rumours that this may involve potato waffles. More news as i get it.
Aye, Shug, that's an idea I've had for some time now, but being the lazy arse that I am, probably won't get round to it until I'm either retired or a lottery winner. An admirable task! Concentrating mainly on NO, or throwing in the JD bit as well? Will try to give you a hand in terms of info and pics...

I was thinking about this last night, and thanks to Old Blue, I found the "History In Cuttings" Vol I & II, so I have plenty of Joy Division information as well. I was solely going to do a "In their own words" and just use quotes from the band, but I am tempted to shove in a few reviews as well, well, snippets of reviews, like using the best reviews and worst......and possibly adding my own.
This will take a good few months probably, but if there's any chance of you helping out with pictures etc... I'll get you involved, probably by sending you piece by piece. I'm sure we can get something sorted
