Was able to get my hands on a vinyl copy of Unknown Pleasures today, for about $15. I had missed the Fourier picture on the cover (still pissed they didn't include any representation of it in Heart and Soul), so I jumped at the chance to buy this. It was a Qwest reissue from the mid-80s, alas, but it's still UP to me.

Also bought the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" soundtrack today :thumb: If it weren't for the current state of the world, i'd have said it was a good day....

Actually, the picture on the cover is not a Fourier serie but a graph of the power emitted by the Pulsar CP 1919. Barney found it on the page 111 of The Cambridge Encyclopedia Of Astronomy. Saville picked the last 80 of 100 pulses and reversed the black and white colours. Great artwork anyway. :)

Then where the hell did i get the idea it was a "Fourier"? :shrug:

I may have heard it as "maybe a Fourier" and taken it to be by mistake....oh well, I blame God for that :nervous:

Don't worry Tabsy, you're not the first one in this forum to say it was a Fourier series (not a serie like I said before). The graph actually looks like a Fourier series.

Where's my math book so I can actually remember..

I've seen worst than this.. like I needed all that math to do what I do for living :D

Very good purchases indeed ( I quite like the O Brother sdtrk) but I forgot whether or not you had a record player.

Don´t make me remember my hard times of university classes. Mathmatic classes were terrible and very difficult,I am only a engineer not a genius like Curtis. :)

A bloke I saw at the Interpol gig yesterday in the Astoria was wearing an Unknown Pleasures shirt. (it was white and the actual picture had black lines, not white) and I informed him of his good taste. :D

those were available on the get ready tour

at reading in 98 they had the normal unknown pleasures sleeve available

When I was little someone actually told me that it was a graph of Ian's voice. I thought it was true for quite a while. My Unknown Pleasures is the Italian pressing and it doesn't have groove notes and it doesn't have the inner sleeve and the Enchanted Hand photo. But I have a mean Marantz 6320 to put it on.

tabsy...your first equation is not able to be solved...no one in the world knows Anna Nicole's original breast size...it's one of those things we will never know!!!
