Don't think the title has been mentioned yet.. According to teletext New Order will be covering Jimmy Cliff's 'Vietnam' for the War Child album. Can't say it rings a bell, but there you go.

"Vietnam" is a jaunty reggae tune, not a million miles away from Cliff's better-known "Wonderful world, beautiful people". Quite how NO tackle this could be interesting to say the least - not a song that immediately brings the New Order sound to mind. Mind you, neither did "Turn the heater on"...

And the anti-war songs just keep coming - REM and Green Day have both released songs on the Net in recent days, but my vote for most original title goes to Lenny Kravitz, who apparently has teamed up with "Iraq's nr 1 pop star" to release a song called.........wait for it.........We want peace.

True, but they are one-takes that are mixed/played with afterwards.
the least that i expect is another fine performance of Barney's out-of-tune-vocal...can't imagine that song from NewOrder... 
do you think they´ll do it in reggae style? or you imagine it with a typical new order sound? my opinion. i think a reggae would be like "turn the heater on 2" or something. but if they transform it to a new order sound would be better. can´t imagine hooky´s bass listening to the original song...

Not necessarily. They can record as they wish (Maida Vale has a huge recording desk), but it has to be recorded in 24hrs, to make it sound fresh. In fact, If I remember correctly NO were allowed to come back the next day to do some tweaking.
I remember reading that the '82 Peel Session was something special, in that the band recorded the songs in some studio and afterwards sent the tapes ready-made to the BBC.
