Do you know anybody that was behind the board for a Joy Division concert anytime from around the recording of UP or later ? Or, anyone that worked on a studio recording, as an assistant or anything would be good to talk to as well for slightly different reasons. Please email me with contact information if so. Terry Feedback was the main man behind the desk in those days - tracking him down won't be easy though.
thanks Benny - if you can think of any leads, such as his real name or where he was from, who else he worked with - or anyone else that you could think to ask that might know, please advise, I would be happy to do whatever I could to track him down, or anyone else that might have had the occasion to twist the knobs, perhaps on the European tour.

His real name was Terry Mason and I guess Chris Brogan (aka "a very small boy") used to be in the same class as him 30 years ago.
Good info, thanks. Chris, do you have any more info to add ? Could you guess as to Terry's age, and have you seen him in recent years or heard anything about him ? Anybody living in the Salford area, could you check the phone book and let me know how many people are listed with that name ? If it isn't many, maybe I'll just call them all, on the off chance that he still lives there.
So do we know for certain whether this is the same Terry Mason that played drums in the band for a while early on ? Seems logical that it would be but I don't want to assume.

Absolutely 100%. They tried him in the band, he couldn't play. Tried him on the mixer, he couldn't do that either. I've got a great interview with him from San Diego 1986 - superb laugh !

This picture was taken in 1988 when he still was New Order tour manager. Ex-drummer, ex-sound guy, ex-tour manager... 
He must have been really good at rolling joints, and his fashion sense is obviously inspirational. Those are hip pants. Man, I hope he doesn't see this thread now !
and what kind of weird tan is that on hooky's arm? he went out in the sun with just gloves on?

Terry Mason. Not actually in the same class but in the same year at school.Age 46/47. The photograph isnt quite how I remember him but the height is representative. A mate told me that he possibly had a scooter sales/repair business because he was very much into scooters at 16 as were Barney and Hooky. There is a class of 69 reunion in a couple of weeks so I will ask a few questions. Maybe even Hooky will turn up!
