Daft question maybe, but.....

.....do Plan K and/or L'Ancienne Belgique still exist as venues ? I was in Brussels recently, but my command of French wasn't sufficiently great to get people to know what the fuck I was on about. I refused to speak in English, which may have helped in retrospect ! Watching RWD Molenbeek lose to Sint Truiden wasn't that much compensation really.....

The Plan K doesn't exist anymore but L'Ancienne Belgique still exists.

Aaaah, Plan K and Ancienne Belgique, two venues where JD/NO played, when they would still give a fuck about playing Belgium...

It's on 'Boulevard Anspach', near the famous DNA cafe, and near the former stock exchange.

Shit, I was staying in the Novotel Tour Noire, just off Bvd Anspach ! Spent many an hour in Cafe Kafka too, and came back with a serious Leffe addiction. Or was it Jupiler in there ?

I don't know about the beer. I would say, if you just asked for a beer, it must have been Jupiler. You have to ask specifically for a Leffe.

Plan K, that should be an important landmark, what with all the "Ian meeting Annik" and such (on Oct. 16, nonetheless). I think any trip I make to Europe (hopefully not in the midst of any terrorist attack/ Anthrax outbreak, etc) will have to include a tour of JD gig sites, and Bealtes gigs (sorry, they're my first love, and they saved me from country music). This would entail the Hacienda (or the ruins thereof) and other prestigous sites.
