Tonight I did LWTUA and Temptation on the karaoke. I felt good.

Okay, Temptation was the "Higher and higher" version by H17 but my LWTUA got applause from white-stilletoed young ladies in a hip, swinging nightclub.

You guys ????

Nice. Haven't done karaoke for awhile, and I'm quite certain that most of the machines round here have no New Order songs at all. That said, the last time I went, at a Japanese restaurant, I did Act Naturally as done by the Beatles, figuring that if Ringo could sing it, I could do the same.:spin: However, that same night, I heard the most horrendous version of Paradise City by Guns And Roses (the full 7 minute version, complete with wails and screams by some poodle-haired guy) that caused us all to wince in pain and drink even more

Dunno what NO songs I'd do, probably something simple like As It Is When It Was.

I hope LWTUA was done in the appropriate 'pub singer' style a la Vic Reeves!

I prefer Russ Abbot's version of ATMOSPHERE myself - so radically different from the original, mucho respect to the guy! HE is the man.

Where the fuck did you find LWTUA on Karaeoke....ya jammy git, I have searched through many books and never found any NO / JD songs, much to the delight of the people in the pubs no doubt.

Fair play me ole muckeroonie, I usually murder American Pie or Like A Rolling Stone:lol:

Chambers on Maid Marian Way, Nottingham - a bit of a dive bar, but their karaoke has always been ace : I usually do The Passenger by Iggy Pop, and my Perfect Day by Lou Reed is a firm favourite there.

Gob-smacked to see a JD song included - and no, it wasn't the Paul Young version either

I think the crowd were impressed that I didn't need the autocue (I can do something better than Barney  )

the two gents in 24HPP did a fantastic job with LWTUA. it's definitely due an a capella soul revision. however, i would probably choose something the crowd knows, which here in america would be nothing, but back in the UK...perhaps true faith, as it can't be too slow. i hate it when people do karaoke ballads. boring.

as for my usual karaoke routine, i'm solidly irene cara. 'fame' and 'flashdance: what a feeling' all the way. sober or drunk, i don't care--i have no shame whatsoever.

I've got LWTUA on a karaoke disc in the pub as Muffy, Liv et al will testify to following the legendary 6AM karaoke bash we had back at the pub a few months ago. The big fella still aint recovered.

PS Havent forgot your video Shug, just waiting to get a wee surprise to put in the package. Gis a week.

I think I'd stick with Elegia.

Ive managed to sing 'Crystal' & 'Blue Monday' at karaoke. 'B.M' is annoying, cos if its the full-length version, you stand around like a pillock for ages before you can sing, but I really loved singing 'Crystal', you can give it some welly!

I've never actually seen a karaoke bar..

wait a minute, yes once, very small, and manage to urge to the door when the stupid guy in front wanted us to sing.

I think it's more pathetic than fun ;)
