Clocked this in one of the Sunday's -

"Regret" went straight into the charts at no.8, ten years ago this week.

However, Sub Sub's "Ain't No Use" went in higher, at no.3, so Rob Gretton had two top 10's that week!

it is truly amazing how time flies. i vividly remember buying 'republic' and sitting on my bed at university listening to it, so happy that NO had put out a new album. as the rocket man says, it seems like yesterday.

however, last week i showed 'titanic' (1997) to my classes (mostly 14 and 15-year-olds), and one girl asked me why we were watching such an 'old' movie. i wanted to get into my car, drive to the ocean, walk into the surf and keep on walking--like bruce dern in 'coming home'.

Those days I was becoming a great Revenge fan.I already had known New Order 6 years before that.

Ahhh, I remember it well. Rushing down to my local HMV to grab the 7" & 12" ( cheeky sods didn't release the CD single till the following week) before heading home and playing them both to death for the next fortnight. Lovely.

I still can't believe those Sabre of Paradise remixes were only available on CD on the Japanese CD... ;)

Not that I like them, but go figure.

I bought the US CD, I think Sebastien also bought the 12" with those remixes..

I remember listening to it, it was good.. but for some reason, I never really connected to this song.. it's not a grower.. it's one you like from the beginning, that must be why...

Talking of Sub Sub and Weatherall, anyone remember the track Jaggernath it was on the b side to Sub Sub's follow up Southern Trees contained a flute sample from My Bloody Valentine Weatherall Mix.

Early piece of Big Beat? - stuck it on the turntable the other day still sounds great!
