I think it's only a typo. Looks like the Kosei Nekin Kaiken Hall gig in Tokyo on 02nd May 1985 (or maybe the previous one on 01st May).
Pumped Full Of Drugs, anyone?
Maybe Ricardo, one of these below but they didn't play in Osaka anyway. It´s really strange, any fans from Japan could help us ?
01 MAY 85 Kosei Nekin Kaiken Hall - Tokyo, Japan
In A Lonely Place, Subculture, This Time Of Night, Denial, Your Silent Face,
Leave Me Alone, The Village, 586, Thieves Like Us, Face Up, Age Of Consent,
The Perfect Kiss, Ceremony
[ Barney Introduces 'Thieves Like Us' as 'Twats Like Us'. ]
02 MAY 85 Kosei Nekin Kaiken Hall - Tokyo, Japan
Confusion, Love Vigilantes, The Perfect Kiss, We All Stand, As It Is When It Was,
Subculture, Face Up, Age Of Consent, Temptation, Sunrise, This Time Of Night,
Blue Monday
As far as I know they only did the two Japanese dates (both at Tokyo) in 1985, plus one in Hong Kong. This list is probably one of those that surfaces from time to time with bullshit tapes on. I got caught out twice by someone in 1987 - "Valby Festival" that wasn't that gig but a splice of two other shows, and "Copenhagen 87" when they didn't play there, again a splice of two shows.
These fuc*** lists all full of mistakes.Could be this :
OSAKA - OSAKA FESTIVAL HALL JAP 29/1/1987
Hi guys
Look at this :
NEW ORDER 05/04/85 Osaka Koseinenkin Kaikan, Osaka JAP70 AUD (33)
"Never heard about it, so I checked in neworderonline.com and worldinmotion.net and there´s nothing talking about this.Could you light up my mind ?"
This is actually correct. I got it from the guy who claimed to have taped it. The setlist doesn't match any other show.
Robin Bashinsky
the only thing I can say is that I got it from somebody w/ quite an eclectic collection (i.e. not some new order freak) and he claimed that either he (or his buddy taped it).
Here's the setlist:
tpk confusion age of consent sub-culture ialp lonesome tonight sooner than you think hurt sunrise blue monday as it is when it was (really early raw version)
doesn't match any other setlist, i'm aware of, blue monday's got the cowbell solo a la pfd and it seems to be a pretty polite audience so i took the guy at his word. maybe it's that hong kong show would be the only other thing i could think of, but i've got reason to doubt the guy. surely someone w/ that japanese promo for the low-life tour could tell us if it's got dates listed.
hope this helps...
It sounds genuine, doesn't it? Set-list seems to roughly fit the era, so if he's a rip-off merchant, he certainly knows his stuff.
However, has anyone ever seen a setlist of the Hong Kong gig? I've never seen a setlist from that one, nor seen a bootleg on offer.
Let me know if it's real, then I'll adjust the touring section with that info.
Do NOT forget :D

Yes it could be TRUE and i too have never found a setlist for this particular HONG KONG gig. Will be interested to know how this story pans out though!![]()
The key to this will either be between-song banter or bum notes. I'd like a copy though please Robin, just to see !
The Hong Kong show was a different date, possibly 28th April 85?
alright I just listened to it and you'll just have to take my word for it, but the whole thing has the same feel as the pfd video. Hooky's bass sounds exactly the same, the crowd doesn't really respond to the songs as they start, but rather just some applause at the end. (Except Blue Monday and Age of Consent. Again in keeping w/ the audience on pfd i.e. "Thanks alot. mow we'll play something else you don't know.") Plus Barney seems to be sick and doesn't say anything between the songs except one little snippet after ialp "is it possible we're not going to have an encore?" or "is it possible we've no got more vodka?" I can't tell. Oh and there's the fact that after the show the tape runs for about 4-5 minutes and there's a bunch of people near the taper speaking japanese ;)
Having listened to the two Tokyo shows from 1985 last night, it should be very easy to tell if this show is a forgery or not - there are that many mistakes on the first night in Tokyo ! Several songs overlap from night to night but there's no real surprise there. Hooky's bass sounded very weird on that tour (the six-string in particular).
I must say that I have a good feeling about this recording before I hear it :)

Just to remember,PFD is not the complete Tokio 02/05/85 show, it´s missing 3 songs : the perfect kiss, age of consent and temptation.

Just remember that I had an audio recording of the full gig 7 days after the concert was played !!
