Someone at CNN's Headline News is a NewOrder fan. First it was the Happy Birthday Gillan Gilbert along with a minute of BLT on Gil's birthday and now (7pm PST) they went to commercial with Love Vigilantes....interestingly, they had the intro looped playing from the beginning to just before "Oh i've just come..."...intro looped 3 times before they finally went to commercial.

more useless information as it becomes available.

was the happy b-day gillian gilbert on the strip across the bottom, or was that just your way of saying why they played BLT that day?

if it was on the news strip, my cynicism towards american news services may wane just a bit....:D

i hear NO in the background on NPR occasionally. but, then again, that's NPR, the station that dedicated an in-depth story to the history of massive attack and an interview with robert del naja.

More JD/NO Spotting.... Last night on Channel 4, Joy Division's Shadowplay and I Remember Nothing were used throughout the programme on the Bamber Murders from 1984.

yes...somebody at CNN has a hardon for the band...

there was the use of Crystal when they were doing their "reinvention:...the line about Barney's birthday...and I remember at least two other times hearing the order on CNN...but can't remember which songs they were, or when they were used...

maybe Ted Turner isn't a complete bastard after all?!?!?!

I thought TT wasn't really in the picture any more? Thankfully they got rid of Connie. That's a step in the right direction.

Here, somebody at the french TV's version of "Hockey Night in Canada" had the same musical taste I have for sure, I remember clearly Someone Like You being used at each and every games to present the goalies...

And several times the intro songs were The Cure or Depeche Mode :D

Unfortunatly, the tv contract went to the cable TV this year, so there were no brit pop there :D

actually, the anchor announced Gillians birthday and they had it running on the bottom...this was quite a while ago..not sure when Gil's b-day is but it was not in April from what i remember. They said happy birthday to NewOrder's Keyboardist Gillian Gilbert and went to commercial with BLT. Yesterday's airing of Lov Vig was just as surprising.

you may be right...I can't be bothered keeping up with these things any longer...I've got a New Order website that occupies quite a bit of my free time...and then there's all that porn on the net to be surfed!!!

They can't. Fox News considers New Order too "liberal" for their tastes.

Exercise One and Day of the Lords too. There was even an Exercise One/I Remember Nothing mix as well. A bit OTT I thought

The last time anyone from Fox News payed attention to music, the Carpenters were big stars!

Not to get off on a Fox-News-bashing tangent, but I've been reading "The Powers That Be" by David Halberstam. This is a book about the media, from 1979, and it talks about how Roger Ailes (the once and future head of Fox News) helped Richard Nixon's 1968 presidential bid with TV spots. I guess it shouldn't be surprising they hired a convicted felon like Ollie North to be a 'talking head'.....

I remember that, it was a remix with no vocals but there was a caption saying "New Order, Crystal (Someone-and-something mix)".

I've always thought if I ever decided to be a film maker and wanted all original music for a film, i'd like to get New Order to do the mix. Then I'd probably throw it out in favor of old Aerosmith songs :D but I'd at least be able to say I worked with New Order :thumb:

The BBC did the indoor athletics a couple of years back and used every track off technique apart from fine time to back the results.
