I've looked through the FAQ but I didn't see anything on this subject so......

After "movement" what lyrics are rumored/proven to be about or linked with Ian Curtis?

After Movement?

The only song where I've seen lyrics compared / about Ian was Your Silent Face, this was in an interview with the magazine SleazeNation (Cheers Mick) around the time of Get Ready's release, but it may well have been the author putting 2+2 together and making 5. I have yet to read anything from Barney saying that any of his lyrics were about Ian - except the line at the end of Vanishing Point. ICB has been given the title Ian Curtis Buried, it was an "In" joke with the band apparently, but is it true? As for Movement itself, Barney said in an interview with Melody Maker in 83, that he was trying too hard to write like Ian, as that was all the band knew at that time.

Were any songs written for Ian? Only Barney knows.

I´d like to see New Order write musics for Ian Curtis unseen lyrics and declare them Joy Division songs.Any chance?Barney, please do it!

I always thought the PK video was about Ian, but not so much the lyrics (I remember rather heated discussions on whether or not it was Ian standing in the doorway). I don't think New Order has done their own "Wish You Were Here" about Ian yet, they might still. But they don't seem to dwell on the past a whole lot.

A "Wish you were here" dedicated to Ian would be great....the Pink Floyd one is memorable

I always thought "Face-up" was connected to Ian as well, but that's just my own doing, I don't have anything to confirm it.

I was just wondering if there was an "offical" confirmation by the band or people connected with them.

You can see a Joy Division shit on the wall in TPK video.

Yes,he was found dead by Deborah on monday morning.

I thought it was Sunday

Maybe Blue Monday is about the day after, the 19th (when they were scheduled to go to America, if I'm not mistaken). At least that's what some magazine article claimed around the time of Get Ready (I'll have to look it up, I've got the magazine at home but can't remember the title....or maybe it was in the Mojo article, I can't remember)

I read once that Blue Monday was supposed to be in response to the media which had gotten pretty critical of them after "Movement."

I think one of the original titles of it was "Fuck off the lot of you."

I've always had a 6th sense about Your Silent Face, it's a very Ian Curtisy vibe. But really it's probably just his influence rubbing off on Barney.
