Oh--I did not know this. I never heard TF 94 --lately I have been just looking for good remixes with modern touches on original NO songs from the 80s.
It's basically the same but the sound is very, very much improved. It's a lot louder and clearer than the original (and about 30 seconds shorter). I'd highly recommend TF 94 above the TF that appears on Substance.

I prefer the True Faith 2001 remixes, but then again, it's me :D
(The Philip Steir mix, the Pink Noise is not really my favorite, but this one is on the bonus disc of Retro.. so if you buy it...)
New Order should never re-release their old songs with tons of ridiculous remixes. TF-94, BM-95, 1963-95, Confusion 2002, TF-2001, etc... It is decadence.

But... I like decadence.
You're probably marginally better off with the original (though TF-94 does sound a bit cleaner...having said that, is the original version on Retro cleaned up a bit?) but there's very little in it, because there's very little real difference. TF-94 was my route to fandom, so it can't be bad.

Just to reiterate: True Faith 94 was a massive waste of time. I though the whole point of a remix was to make something sound a wee bit different, not to "clean up" the sound quality. I dont dislike TF94, as its so much like the `87 version, but dammit, calling it a remix or a revamped version or whatever the hell you wanna call it is just darn wrong!!!!

I agree. In my opinion, it's more or less just a rdio edit of the original True Faith.

Not really a waste of time since they now play the Perfecto version live...
The "true faith" single 94 version tough, I'm not sure, but I think the vocals were re-recorded.. they are also other remixes that didn't make it.
They did Round & Round 94, 1963-94 and BLT-94 too that year, only for the best-of album, TF94 was the "single" out of this album.. there is a rumour it was going to be Vanishing Point!

The single from 'Best Of' SHOULD have been 'Vanishing Point'; at least it had never been released as a single before....
Either that, or 'Bizarre Love Triangle `94', which deserved a second chance for success
