Did she quit the band, she's nowhere to be found.

She's on a leave of absence looking after her and Steve's daughter, who has not been a very well bunny for a couple of years.

She probably did have a role in Get Ready, but is not currently playing live, hence Phil Cunningham's cheeky-chappie appearance :) (he's a long-time friend of the band)

we should probably should put this in the FAQs. This question seems to be asked a lot these days.

Why was this cut out of the DVD? I know some *ahem* in these parts aren't too fond of the song, but I guess I'm a completist. :D Show us the whole truth and nothing but the truth. And I miss Gillian too...

I was a bit disappointed going to finsbury park because I knew gillian probably wasn't going to be there, But her appearance during WIM made the song bearable for me. :)

it was cut cause barney made lots of mistakes on the lyrics, completely out of synchronization or maybe keith wasn´t with them on barnes' part :D

Maybe Steven ought to quit before the new album & be replaced by Gillian. We live in the 21st Century now yknow, Morris, why dont YOU stay at home & look after your daughter?!...

I can't see Gill powering her way through an energetic drumming performance, meself, although she may have hidden talents

Nice idea, tho' - swapping the childcare role on alternate albums :)

Get James to sing! - oh wait a minute he persuaded his Dad to let Billy Corgan do that for him!!!!

I'm sure Gillian knows her way around a drum machine from all those years being on the road...just make the setlist Thieves, BLT, Blue Monday, This Time of Night, Truth and which ever other song uses them.

There is real drumming on This Time of Night (Steve used to help out Gillian with the sequencers at the start of that track and then mosey on around to his kit to do some tub-thumping in time for the first rendition of the chorus).

Truth would be problematic as Gillian plays guitar on that track (could always keep Phil on I suppose).

Other plinky-plonky (drum machine) tunes could include The Perfect KIss, Confusion and Angel Dust :)

I always thought it was Gillian singing on Someone Like You with Barney.
I thought I read it in an article at one time. People keep saying it wasn't her though. But like someone else pointed out in another "Gillian" thread, no one else was credited in the sleeve. So it must be her. I think my rumor's fairly credible.

I thought it was Dawn Zee? I'll have to check the credits again. If it was Gillian, she did a fine job! They should let her sing lead vocal sometimes.

She's a very good singer - try anything by The Other Two ;)

Gillian was definitely on GR, at least parts of it: SLY- backing vocals 60 mph- the keyboard solo Vicious streak- keyboards Primitive notion- keyboards in the instrumental break

If it ain't her, then they got her cloned!

I'd say it was Barney doing the keyboard bits (as he'd done them on all three Electronic albums, save the tracks Patience OAS and Getting AWI). He also played keyboard live for JD.

And I wouldn't put it beyond New Order to have forgotten to credit Dawn Zee with backing vocals on Someone Like You. Here's a couple of errors which have occurred that I have picked up:

Finsbury Park DVD: Regret credited as having been written by New Order--Stephen Hague is forgotten (he co-wrote Republic).

Substance CD: Cries & Whispers incorrectly labeled Mesh.

Here's another one: 316 DVD: ICB (Taras Shevchenko) is actually Chosen Time.

This is one of the several reasons I request different members on vocal on the next album.U2 do it with the edge and depeche mode with martin gore.

Not forgetting the complete non-appearance of Love Vigilantes on the Retro listing too - shoddy workmanship, that one :evil4:

Absolutely - Steve should get of his arse and sing Ceremony again, in a Western Works demo stylee - gotta love those wobbly vocals

Gill's vocal style reminds me very much of that Sarah wotsit-bird off Dubstar :)
