Can anyone verify the existence of the video to NewOrders Glastonbury 87 appearance?

I remember seeing it advertised for sale in the back of an NME donkeys years ago, but whatever copies exist dont seem to surface very often (even Shugzy hasnt got it so it MUST be elusive! )

The beeb apparently professionally recorded the gig but decided not to release it for one reason or another, although extensive clips from TF appear in the singles video and have no doubt been used on TV montages etc down the years...

Its out there.. somewhere!!!!

Personally, I've never seen a bootleg, or heard of one, but the Beeb did supposedly video it for a possible future airing, much in the same way as Reading 98 appeared on ITV. As far as know though, it's never seen the light of day.

Didn't someone say recently however that the limited DVD in the US (with Retro, or International, or whatever?) also included snippets of Barney smashing his geetar up at the end of Sister Ray, as part of the True Faith video? Now that, I'd like to see.. .

Yep Al its included on the bonus DVD for International which i was fortunate enough to find in HMV recently, it has ample live footage from the gig in the video, including Barney throwing speakers and guitars about the place, and Steve having a good ole laugh on the Drums as well as quite a few frenetic audience shots as well.

AgentWood, i think he's frowning because i sent him a copy of this video recorded from DVD but as it was an imported DVD it didnt record onto tape properly as my system only decodes european DVD's

The long and short of it is that he hasnt yet seen it as his copy shakes like Gillians finger on the TPK video!!

Hi Don

Which video you sent to Shug ?

'International Bonus DVD' i tried to record it onto VHS but it failed miserably due to non-pal macrovision encoding :(

I've got two non-Macrovision DVD players that I'll be able to record from - how about lending the disc to me, temporarily, so that I can make it available to folk on VHS (and maybe do VCD copies) ?!

The professional recording at Glastonbury only took place during True Faith, I remember that much and have a bootleg which verifies this.

To extend the search for footage question, what happened to the 10th summer at G-Mex and Touched by the Hand of God at Brixton '87?

Really??

Jarvo, didnt you mention earlier in this thread that the footage of Barney smashing up a guitar is from the Sister Ray song performed at this gig ?

Maybe I was wrong about this and the footage was taken from the side of the stage. On the bootleg I think that cameras are only visible during True Faith, they were certainly crawling all over the stage during this track. I shall have another look.

speaking of US internationals with the DVD - have any of the winners had their e-mails from the webmasters yet about how much postage to send?

I have no knowledge of what videos of this show really exist, but I find it hard to believe that the BBC would have only recorded TF on video since it hadn't been released as a single yet.
