Myself being just below drinking age (just barely--goddammit!), is there any place I could meet you all in Seattle?

I graduated from EVERGREEN!...though i did use my diploma one night when i ran out of RIZLA's...

Thanks for sticking up for me guys! I just moved here from TX, I don't go to evergreen, I'll be going to Seattle U in the fall. As for the treehuggers..well my friends from tx have warned me to be careful, as apparently they tend to be a lil friskier than the rest. Have yet to encounter that!

I'm just having a little fun. Some of my friends go to Evergreen. I go to Western up here in Bellingham myself, so we also have quite the reputation for being a bunch of hippies. And we do have a college here (Fairhaven) that is roughly the same sort of "alternative" learning facility when it comes to certificate-style degrees. As for my "Robert Smith fascination," let's just say it's not especially fostered up here, as I've been forced to make Cure fans instead of find them.

I'm in the same situation. I'm 19 - obviously below drinking age - but would like to meet some of you in NYC. Is there any place where I can meet some of you and get in, even if I'm carded? For that matter, is there anything that "minors" can do in NYC?

Well, as soon as some sort of solid itinerary gets formed for when everyone is meeting where and when to do what, I'll work a trip to Seattle into my schedule.

erm...i wouldn't worry about your age in NYC! i moved to the city to go to college when i was 17 and never had a problem finding a place to drink...or any other substance for that matter! :D

thats why I put the smilie...We better do a lot of drinking and going to clubs!!!...It was not a cheap trip for me...and I want my $$$ worth...aka, I dont want to remember everything I do. ps. Im bringing my lap top and digital camera...so pics will be available to the highest bidders!...well, so long as I can function well enough to use the camera

As a good Irish-Catholic lass, I never drink, so as a result I'm usually drunk by one or two beers, its pretty sad!! I guess I'm a cheap date tho! Now PIP, on the other hand who is also a good Irish-Catholic lass, can drink any of ya'll under the table. We try to honor our Irish Ancestors but I usually just end up passed out on the bathroom floor. So do any of you Seattleites know of any good bars downtown? I just moved here and am not quite in the loop yet.

...Im a good Irish-Catholic lass?!?!...when did that happen? Ok, maybe I WAS at some point! And Im fine as long as you keep me away from the TVRs that they keep talking about...Te -Kill_Ya makes me sick!...But a good British Ale or Rum and Coke will always work for me!! Cant promis I wont be falling down any stairs though Just make sure the pubs are on ground level and I will be a happy camper!

And here I thought TVR's were cars! I need to be educated on the lingo. Tequila is evil, so is Jaegarmeister. I had some at mardi gras, and, well....it wasn't pretty. Oooh so are Jello Shots. Ugh i feel sick now.

Hopefully some of you lot over there can come up with a few ides....cos if it's left to moi - we'll be drinking in all the Irish Bars:D Celtic have one of their main CSC's over there, New York Celtic Supporters Club, they meet up in a place called "The Parlour" I willl definitely be stopping there for several shandies when we're over

Do Irish bars card you, even if you obviously look underage? I've basically got bernard sumner aging syndrome, and I look like I'm 16, eventhough I'm 19. Just to get into 18+ clubs while I was living in Boston, I had to show both my state ID - I don't drive yet - and my college ID.

my understanding of the Seattle trip is this : wake up, drink, eat, drink, dance, drink, drink, drink, fall down, drink, sleep....times at least 7 days....with the footie match thrown in there somewhere...and some of us may take a trip to Canada...to drink no doubt...and Im sure we will see some of the sites...the Space Needle is across the street from our hotel, and the monorail is beside it...but mostly it will be drinking!!! and meeting the other NOOLers....and as far as fraternizing , well you just never know..hehehehe....am I wrong guys?

Hotel sounds like it's right there near the Seattle Center. Should be easy to find. I don't know the sites down there too well, but I know some. Maybe there are some smaller concerts going on in town that week? I'll check the papers.

But Canada?! Hells yes, if people are going to the big white north, I'm so there. Drinking age is 19, baby! It's only about 20 min. from where I go to school now, so only about 50 min. from my summer home.

Either way, I'm not very far from either Seattle or Canada--sandwiched in between actually. So defintely keep me posted.

Its the Ramada Inn City Center...so yes, it will be easy to find!!...and Canada sounds like it is pretty definite!!...we will keep you updated...you are one of the people I really wanna meet, so you have to come!!!

The Ramada Inn on 5th street? I do believe that is where I am staying for Monday and Tuesday.
