I would not feel the slightest bit bored going on holiday taking PURELY neworder cd's to listen to, in fact i've done it as recently as earlier this year, and far from being bored as soon as i got home i listened to them again!! must to the complete bewilderment of my mates!!!

I turned up on Fridaynight to the Brixton gig without a ticket willing to pay virtually anything in order to see their final performance, buying my ticket at twice the prices of its face value seemed like a bargain to me, well in fact i didnt care as seeing NewOrder is priceless!! :D

Oh theres many many more.. but lets hear some claims as to why you think your NewOrders biggest fan... (i know JohhnyGiles has got a damn good passport tale!)

as for the original topic Don, I love New Order because when trying to tell why they are the dogs bollocks, I wrote a 15,000 word story, and still didn't put half my thoughts and reasons in it, I feel there may well be an updated version or story 2 on the site after we get back from the US of A, with stories of meeting all the mad yanks;)

Rather than going to Italy or greece like my wife wanted, I convinced my wife that England would be the best place for our honeymoon, and Instead of leaving on our honeymoon immediately after our wedding on May 18th, I told her it would be better for us to leave around June 9th. But all along i just wanted to go to england to see New Order at finsbury!

because i can´t do none of the mentioned above, i can´t travel all around the world, i can´t buy all of their records, i live on the ass of the world, and probably i´ll never even be able to see them live. but i´m still supporting them. allowd me comparing to football. who owes more respect? the Manchester United/Real Madrid/Juventus supporter, who once a year celebrates something without a doubt? or the third division team supporter, who maybe never in his life will see his team win anything but he supports it anyway? think about it ;)

Because I froze my balls off in Poole Coach Station after failing to find a B & B, and waited for four hours for a National Express coach to turn up at 3.30 am. In March (1986). And not giving a shit...

Because I have had to overcome my prejudice in knowing Barney to have been a complete and utter dickhead at school and then discovering to my utter amazement that New Order, my favourite band, was fronted by the village idiot himself and is now a musical genius. It makes your heart bleed! Barney, you are forgiven all the beatings you dished out although you never tried it on with me despite me being a very small boy!

I would hate to be New Order's biggest fan. Or even to think in terms of that. At the end of the day, they are just a band who make records we like.

I think that Wolfman bloke who used to do gigs in the 80's was New Order's biggest fan. He was massive. Just his hair and beard alone were the size of a small child. Scary fella.

Completly agree. Except that, sometimes, in the end of the day, they make crap records . But that's why they're good. Great musicians, common people and commit fails.

don't we all ?!? i log in every day just to see how his love life is getting on ... seriously though, what determines being the biggest fan? How many gigs you've been to, how many versions of one track you have ...? I consider myself to be a seriously big fan, but I've never seen them live. Owning the 3 16 and 5 11 dvds is the closest I've got so far. Seeing them live is one of those things on my wish list, but unfortunately there's so many other things as well ... When we go on our hols I'll make sure to fill the cd changer in the car with NO only, and luckily my hubby always takes his lapdancer so I won't have to miss the forum...

I'm not New Order's biggest fan but I like them because...where do I start? They make quality music that suits my every mood (e.g. Technique and Get Ready for when I'm happy, Republic for when things aren't going so well), they're a mixture of my two favourite music genres (rock and dance), they're more "hhuman" than some bands (making mistakes on record and during gigs, their general air of normailty etc) and their music's timeless; it never gets boring or old.
