If you bumped into a member of the band, what the heck would you say ?

I'd start off with "Mmmphmuumumutghfgdmum" probably and then say something completely starstruck like "You way off the beaten track, mister - you shure got a purty mouth....".

Really, tho' what would you say ?

If the pubs were open it would have to be "You've given me over 20 years of pleasure, the least I can do is buy you a pint" or something equally fawning..

If i met Steve in the pub I'd march right up to him, shake his hand twice, ask him if he wants a pint, if he refuses, i jump on top of the bar, steal exactly 16 packets of salted peanuts, open them all up (bit unrealistic since i cant open one packet nevermind 16) sprinkle the peanuts all over steve's head, begin singing world in motion at him full blast, then collapse onto the floor in a drunken mess whilst steve bludgens me to death with his chin of hell.

"oops...sorry...let me help you up" then I realize who I'm talking to..."Hi, how are ya? I love your music."

I wish I could redo what I said..

When I met Peter Hook, I was so shocked that all I could say was

" Oh my god, your Peter Hook! I cannot believe it! I am one of your biggest fans! I really admire your work!"

Somebody should have just shot me. It was totally unexpected and I've never planned for a moment like that. I was like an idiot 13 year old. :(

after 1 - 2 glasses of wine : nothing, I would be tongue-tied after 3 - 5 glasses of wine : I would probably manage to utter something along the lines of 'I've always loved your music, how's the new album coming along' after 6 or more: I'd be advising Barney on his diet and asking Hooky for some DIY tips ...

I've met them. No need to say anything.

aw, come on. It's only New Order. Now if it was Ian Curtis, that would be something.

I told Barney to stop singing once. He was trying to sing David Bowies Space Oddity.

I don't think I'd actually SAY anything. I'd probably collapse with laughter or something like that. Or else, I'd think of those inane AIM away messages I made up about New Order and I'd probably p*ss myself and run. :bag:  :jawdrop:

"Mr. Hook, why don't you play your bass like any other - with all the fingers? Maybe it'll sound better, man!!":bag:

I'd say..."what the hell are you doing out here...get back in the studio so I can have something new to listen to!"

or..."Thanks!"

I'd ask them if they would like to join me in eating a wonderful tin of Spam...knocked back with a high quality American lager...something like...Red Dog...that's the ticket...

then maybe we would head off to Burger King...or maybe not...

I'd probably go "G'day how's it going? You wouldn't mind putting your John Hancock on this copy of Get Ready would ya?"

I would say."Lend us a tenner mate...i'm broke."

I met Hooky last year, I was, unfortunately quite drunk at the time, all I could ask was when were they coming to play in Spain.

I would say."Lend us a tenner mate...i'm broke."

I would either say that, or I would ask if they could spare a light. :smokin:

"Fancy seeing you today. What the heck are you doing here?

After I'd got over the initial shock, I'd say "Can I have your autograph?" Then, once I'd got that, I'd probably say something like "You guys are my favourite band, you've kept me sane over the last few years. Keep it up!" before letting them go on their way. Sorry to be boring.
