the future of New Order?

But New Order have always been a law unto themselves mostly havent they? They'll probably bring something out as and when it suits them, Bearing in mind it took 8 years between Get Ready and Republic, who knows how long the gap will be until their next supposed album?. Are they actually in the process of beginning the recording yet - any concrete news on that front?

Spot on Julijana, we WERE spolit in the 80's! I just hope NO don't turn into a parody of themselves like the Stones did (and I love the Stones). I also wonder how long Hooky's knees allow him to sling his bass that low. I guess Bill Wyman's knees lasted out because he held it at chest-level from Day 1, although that did not look at all cool

Not sure where all this 'lack of airplay' and 'sales' nonsense comes from? Surely Get Ready sold as well as any previous album? Movement hardly shifted big quantities now, did it? And Crystal was on air as much as any single I can remember, bar BM/WIM. It did make no.4 after all. Poptastic. Oh, and they did do their first tour since, what, summer 87? (Does two gigs back to back in 89 then 98 count as a 'tour'?). And said tour sold out across the board. Hmmm.

He must mean lack of sales and airplay in the US...

As for making music, they will be involved in the business as long as they choose. If they are not making music for themselves, there is always the chance to produce other artists.

Something to look forward to...maybe the kids will get into the business one day then they can support their parents.

One more album and then I think it will be time for them to say Goodbye, unless they want to end up as pathetic as the Rolling Stones (please, no).

i don't think anyone should say that new order are virtually on their last legs. i discovered them just over 2 years ago and to be honest they've changed my life. as long as people like me get introduced to them, and the even younger generation gets to hear the wonders of new order / joy division, nothing will stop them!

i've not yet seen new order :( but they're the only band i really wanna see now, no-one else :D
