Let me start by saying that I have purchased almost everything the band has released. (Have all vinyl releases through "Nineteen63" --even "Run2" -- everything on CD except what's mentioned below. Bought Retro, even)
Still, I have yet to buy the singles with "Player in the League" and "Such a Good Thing" because it is just too repetitive. So, the point is, does anyone know where I can download MP3s of these songs? "Vietnam", too?
BTW, I can't find it on Kazaa.

You could also try Imesh (download the client software from Imesh.com) and Soulseek (slsk.net, I think) - they both run in a similar way to Kazaa, and give you access to different users, some of whom might have the MP3s you're looking for.
So I guess you don't have the bonus disc of Retro to ask for Such A Good Thing....
Anyway, the Here To Stay single is worth buying..

Me neither...I passed on Retro originally, and now I can't find the 5-disc version anywhere.
The conundrum: Who but a serious fan is going to lay down $50-$60 for a box set, and yet what serious fan is going to settle for the 4-disc box as "good enough?"
So, are there any of the 3,0000 left? Fess up.
Dont download Vietnam, show some decency, NewOrder took the time out to record it for free and for a good cause, so the least we can do is support that instead of downloading it and taking the piss.

ebay has a ton of retro 5 disc sets , there are usually no more than 6 at a time and it's buy it now price is usually 49.00 + shipping
Thanks, Our Frank. I'm always a bit leery of eBay, but I guess I'd better get used to it. I did score a very nice set of drum pads from there once, but I've read so many horror stories...

Yep, only the 4-disc set. Thanks for the replies. I hesitated before getting the collection, too. Which now, by the way, sits on my book shelf right next to "Heart and Soul".
In my experience, genuine fans use MP3s as a means of either obtaining hard to find or unreleased tracks, or as an advance listen to new stuff. In both cases, if the hard to find or unreleased stuff becomes available at a realistic price, or when the new stuff gets an official release, the true fan will buy it anyway.
Who loses?
Nobody.
The scurrilous pigs who use them to avoid paying over cash for product and therefore ruin the party for the rest of us, however, are evil.

I feel like a minority of people will "steal" music, those who would actually never buy the thing probably.
There are a few people that maybe didn't buy The Beach OST or Hope because of the mp3 though, I know, I am one.. I downloaded it instead, and was hoping it would be part of a New Order release someday, and it was thanks to Retro.
Hope, however, is too expensive to import for the time being, and the Canadian edition doesn't have Vietnam on it :(
There's still quite a few copies of the 5xCD box set if you look around...
Try Sister Ray http://www.sisterray.co.uk/ or HMV at Oxford Circus - they still had at least one for 36 quid when I went in there on Monday....

Well, I had success with the downloads. Those two songs, along with "Behind Closed Doors" (which is better than anything off Get Ready, sans "Crystal", "TMW", "Vicious Streak" IMHO) really sound good. Too bad they didn't use some of the album tracks as b-sides and these three on the album. oh well. "Vietnam" is okay, I guess...
Big thanks to SWGTS for suggesting WinMX, and especially to Peter for suggesting SoulSeek (which is slsk.org, btw) my new fave program. Much more stuff than Kazaa (New Order, anyway).
Off to a guilt-filled three day weekend of listening to new (to me) New Order songs.

The best download manager was napster, but it's gone, so actually i prefer emule.
I found and downloaded hundreds of new order songs. The last highlight was True Faith (The Morning Sun Remix Edit) which is an Audiotrack on the True Faith Video CD from 1989.

I now bitterly regret not buying the Crystal single when it was out so I could get Behind Closed Doors...now I've got to find the bloody thing on ebay more than likely. But I did get 60MPH and HTS so 2/3 ain't bad...
Out of curiosity how many 5-disc copies of Retro were available worldwide? (I'm one of the lucky ones...hehe)
