The MCPS is a good starting point :)

Lonesome Tonight was published by BeMusic/Warner Bros Music, which should assist ;)

Check the tribute forum, learn about the mechanical licensing....!!

Too tired to find the link!

warner chapell has a tool that you can use for that purpose, and there is a nother place I can't think of, but it's in the tribute forum.

Like Nic, I'm too tired to find the link.

You don't need the band's permission, per se, just a license from the publisher.

Type "synchronization license" into Google and you'll find tons of forms and information. Here's a handy example.

Of course, to use the actual recording, you need to license both the song and its performance (the master recording).

You could find some hipster band (hint hint) on a fan site and have them re-record the track (hint); then you'd avoid the whole "master use" licensing issue.
