Neither version of "The Egg" (there was a longer version on the 12", the 7" is edited) is available on CD AFAIK...

The logical place to have released it would have been Loads+Loads More, but sadly, it didn't appear on it.

Cheers, I do have the 12" somewhere. So I take it there is didly squat chance that This Feeling was ever released on CD either.

There's a good bit on the 24 hrpp DVD 'bout The Egg.

Disc 2, Miranda Sawyer is fascilitating a discussion with Hooky, Rowetta, Moscrop, Mitchell etc who are all watching the film. During one of the Mondays scenes, Hooky says Paul Ryder used to be his postman & would drop Mondays demo tapes through his letterbox along with his post. Hooky liked what he heard, took it to Tony Wilson with a recommendation to release it. It was, of course, The Egg.

Ps, a mate of mine got barged out of the way by Ms Sawyer in a corner shop on Brixton Hill yesterday morning.

If you think she looks ruff on TV, WITH the make-up applied...;)

AFAIK, the only song that's ever appeared on CD from those 12"'s are "Freaky Dancin'" and "Delightful" on "Loads More".

Oh, and obviously Oasis was on the Squirrel And G-man... album!

So, there's room for another Mondays compilation CD out there...

Talking of the Mondays. I recently read Bez's autobiography (admit it, your suprised he can write!) a jolly yarn it is too. He states that a demo was given to Hooky, and Steve nicked the drumming off it for a New Order track (possibly at the time of Low-Life). Apparently, Steve admitted the theft at a party years later. Has anyone any idea what songs were invloved - I can't be arsed to dig my vinyl out!
