... no need to Fall Asleep at one of their gigs!

The man himself might be incommunicado at the mo' but I dug out this piccie of David Molyneux, eyes shut, left of shot at one of Revenge's earliest gigs, Cambridge Junction in 1990. (This piccie was in the NME, 5 May 90).

Dave's either asleep or possibly concussed as Hooky had 'knuckled' him over the head as Revenge took the stage (true!).

Nah, he's trying to "find his happy place" and forget he's at a Revenge gig!

That's kind of like a joke Conan O'Brien told a few months back about fans booing at a Vince Neil concert when he called them pathetic. Conan's punchline: The fans had to concede that they were, seeing as they paid money for a VINCE NEIL concert! :thumb:

Coincidence or not,I had jud finished to listen to it a few minutes ago.

23/04/1990 - Cambridge - The Junction

All I can say is that there were only 200 people in his show in Sao Paulo,my cousin was there and took some autographs to me :)

I didn't think Revenge were boring.

I thought they were quite good :bag:

No, Revenge were never boring.....though they would have been much more interesting if those girls were in the band.

Btw, the name Revenge has now been taken up by a band, I think its a South American band...and no, their music has nothing to do whatsoever with NO.

Had a revelatory Revenge moment just last week. That's Joanne Guest on the cover of OTP!! :jawdrop:

Sorry if thats thick, but all the other pictures I've seen of her I wasn't really looking at the face...

i´m with you on that. for me Revenge was the second best project of new order members. IMHO, much more interesting than monaco and other two!

Yesterday evening on Dutch radio they played a few songs from a concert Revenge did in Paradiso(?). The band itself stopped the recording after 20 minutes or so because of the bad quality! Even then I think it was worth listening too. In the same program the Buzzcocks and Happy Mondays but Revenge were most interesting in my opinion. I missed the beginning but I think the programme was broadcasted because of the 24hourpp film that is shown now for two weeks over here.

Nooooooooo! Gutted, as I've never been a fan of hers. Nice piccie though.

How 'literally' do some people have to take this thread?! The purpose was to show a piccie of one time one time board contributor Dave Molyneux with his eyes shut at a gig. The implication was that he was asleep (on the record, I for one don't actually believe he was asleep) and that said band Revenge had sent him to sleep. The implication wasn't a generalisation about Revenge being at all 'boring'. I don't necessarily believe Revenge were boring. Hmmm.

Paul, did ACR pull many in at the Junction? Revenge probably got 150'ish and the atmosphere was pretty stilted, to say the least.

acr at the junction attracted about 30 people...shame really..if i remember correctly it is/was like a club type venue thats not very centrally located and pretty hard to find.

Yeah, well off the beaten track from what I remember, and looked like a sports centre from the outside with a huge car-park around it. From what I remember, it was a right hike from the nearest boozer.

I fell asleep during the Cranberies Zagreb gig last year. I only went to see them because we get so few gigs in Zagreb that beggars can't be choosers. However, Dinamo played Fulham earlier in the afternoon, and I went to the match with my brother and all everyone from the neighbourhood. There we got very drunk before, during and after the game (we lost), so by the time we arrived at the concert hall I could just about eat a pizza, have another beer, find a seat inside the hall, and five songs into the set I was comfortably asleep. Apparently, that concert was the highlight of Zagreb's musical life in 2002. The match wasn't very good. The beer was. But to remain on topic, I don't think I could fall asleep at a concert I'm really interested in, and anything NO related would be something I'm really interested in.

Joanne is a British model who sometimes loses track of where her clothes are.........

Took me a minute to find a pic where she still had something on.......

Think she was also in that Blur video for Country House, though it's been ages since I've seen that one.

Aye, that's her. When she dies they'll bury her in a Y shaped coffin. ;)

is that pic of her from a REM video?

i SAW REVENGE AT THE aXIS CLUB IN bOSTON. tHEY WERE GREAT. It was interesting seeing Hooky in a little club. He owns that bass and the stage. That moment and seeing Killing Joke in the same club makes going to a large venue a bore. I hope New Order does a club tour in the USA. Very, Very cool indeed!

Luckily the photo was NOT in colour as you may notice that I was wearing a monstrous 'acid house' hooded top!

The gig, like Revenge (and Monaco) was SHITE by the way.

GREAT party Ness & Greg by the way! I got collared using my out of date ticket and had to buy a new one at London Bridge! :love2:

See you all in six months.

I also wanted to know "who the heck Joanne Guest is"...

Little search, all I found is pretty explicit pictures... now how will I recover this when I'll look at the One True Passion cover?

I never found any of the 'side projects' boring, though I think the lowest point was the release of the second Monaco album - the first one (IMO) pisses all over anything that Electronic ever did, but then I've always been a fan of Mr. Hook.

Great pic, by the way Al - and nice to see Dave back for a one-off post!
