New Order Spotting

Always wondered why YSF was on a compilation of "music from adverts". It all makes sense now...

Had to work through the night last Thursday and, thanks to the glories of late night basic cable, heard Monaco's "What Do You Want From Me?" featured in an episode of "Daria." Then I flipped over to VH1 and caught the video for Blue Monday 88.

Thing is, Monaco's stuff never came out here in the States, so somebody on the "Daria" staff had to have been a fan to have heard it in the first place.

know exactly what you mean - read your post & looked out for it thinking i've not heard that - then it came on & thats been on telly a few months now & had never twigged

Didn't have much to do last Wednesday so watched "The Bill" on ITV, at one point a copper went undercover into a house where they were running a rent-boy ring. He walked into the living room and what was blasting out on the stereo? Transmission, that's what. Totally inappropriate use of JD material #1, I think.

I think then that they should have used "Hurt," which I still think sounds like "I am boy you will enjoy." Me love you long time.

Other guilt by association: "Buffalo Bill" from Silence of the Lambs favored Wire ("Alone"), and apparently Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins composed the "music for kidnappers" in Ransom.

KTCL in denver played WDYWFM all the time when it came out, so i think it got a lot of airplay on 'modern rock' (or whatever you call them) stations over here.
