Hi guys. This is strictly second hand info that I got off some other forum...SO DON'T KILL THE MESSENGER!!! Somebody over there is saying that a reliable source told him that there is a hidden easter egg on the new The Cure: Trilogy DVD set that has the bobster singing Love Will Tear Us Apart in a duet with Barney on stage!!!...as well as Hooky guest starring on bass, replacing Simon temporarily for the one track!!! Like I said, this is a rumor and is said to be one of the easter eggs on the dvd. Don't ask me how to access it because the poster didn't know either.

Regardless, I WILL be picking up the concert dvd tomorrow at best buy los angeles for my 30th birthday!!! I hear it absolutely destroys any other concert dvd in existance...including the highly praised Stop Making Sense. The entire concert was filmed on high def digital cameras and the picture is said to be fucking extraordinary!!! The sound was recorded in 5.1DD and people are saying it's the best sounding concert they have ever heard! Supposedly you will actually FEEL like you were there in Berlin!

Anyway...can anyone confirm this rumor? I would love to see Swollenbarney and Ballooneyhookey on stage with Beefinbob!! They could be know as the 'Humpty Dumpty' trio lol!!!

Oh sure, this is actually true. There is another easter egg in this DVD where George W. Bush and Saddam Hussein join The Cure on stage to dance the macarena!

 I've read here http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/ChainOfFlowers/curenews.htm that the easter eggs have already been found. A few interview outtakes and a split screen version of "Plainsong" recorded from Robert's view on both nights--or something like that.

The Cure doing a version of LWTUA?. This is true, a few years ago when they were touring Australia Triple J radio asked them to do a version of it just for them, i think the listners voted for them to do it. I have heard it once and once only and it was fantastic, except fat bob's voice wasn't that good.

he's been pretty chubby for most of their career, but seriously you should watch the fairly recent album retrospective at launch.com. he looks like a pork chop. even my ex-girlfriend, who for the longest time believed in the "big teddy bear" syndrome when it comes to Robert, now thinks he's a bit too old and rolled. but he still makes awesome music so who cares what the fuck he looks like?

by the way, if you want a funny Robert Smith fat joke article, http://www.musicfanclubs.org/cure/press/A9.html

He actually was a big teddy bear in the "Why Can't I Be You?" video.

Ahh, the Why Can't I Be You video, the one where they all dressed up as the title. A letter Y, a pair of lips on their side, an eye, a bee and a letter U. Took me a minute to get the significance of the lips...

Lol "the drunk" Tolhurst in blackface in that video quite nearly gave me nightmares for years.

The only time i've ever heard of Cure doing LWTUA is for a competition on an Auzzie radio station where the listeners picked which cover they wanted and that was the winner. It may even be in the audio section on this site...

Certainly very skeptical about this "duet" with Barney on stage.. someones telling porkie pies mefinks!!!

I heard that the producers brought in Industrial Light and Magic to insert Barney digitally, a la Jar Jar Binks.

I´ve got a great version of The Velvet Underground's Run Run Run here with Bernard playing guitar with Echo & The Bunnymen.

And I find VERY hard to believe that ANY film concert could be better than Stop Making Sense.

Stop Making Sense is SOOO good. David Byrne is a genius (certified, I think).

I'll have to buy Trilogy when I get back...

Hope it's worth it, I don't really watch concert DVDs very often, once yes, but not really more than that..

Which is useful of having a DVD-Rom player on your computer, you can put the show in background!

Old Blue thank you very much for that link! It's the first time I heard that cover ever!!! It ROX!!!

Anyway went to best buy today and they didn't have it. So had to drive ALL THE WAY the fuck up to Tower Records on Sunset to grab it. It was worth the drive though, because I also picked up all of U2's concert dvds, Stop Making Sense, Echo & the Bunnymen Live in Liverpool, The Clash Westway to the World, Depeche Moe Live in Paris, Depeche Mode the Videos, and New Order 511. Gonna be a bitchen week!!! :)

He didn't play guitar - he just stood there and made up crap rhymes while the Bunnymen played the song !
