O.K., this is weird. Recently, in new york city, a bizarre event took place. At the famous C.B.G.B club ( spiritual home of The Ramones) There was a birthday party for MTV news correspondent Iann Robinson, it was also the cd release party for his band, Puny human. One of the other acts was a danish band called Four way anal touchfight. I'm not kidding. They hit the stage wearing choir robes sewn like danish flags, and strange half face masks. As they were about to leave the stage, they were being seriously compelled to perform an encore by the crowd, a number of which were well known celebrities, who, bizzarrely, knew all of their songs and sang along at such volume that it often sounded like a choir! Along with Mr. Robinson were other MTV staffers like Kurt Loder and John norris, and no less than a very enthusiastic Elijah Wood!!! well, the weirdness hit it's apex when one of the danish fighters called on the crowd to "help us raise the ghost of mr. Ian Curtis" as the beginning bass riff of Transmission filled the club to much applause from the capacity crowd. Their performance was spirited and in earnest. It doesn't get much odder than this. If you are brave enough for danish surreality, they have a web site at fourwayanaltouchfight@yahoo.com. Good luck.
