i'm new to this board and sort of new to new order(used new to many times)i'm 26 and being a big fan of the happy mondays i always liked the odd new order tune as well. though since seing 24 hour party people have started to become obsessed with new order(and joy divison)also think peter hook came across very well in the extras on the dvd,the way he spoke he was so proud of were he came from and the people and music he produced.now to my question, being from edinburgh i had a search through a new order fanpage(can't remember which one)which had a gigography looking for the times they played edinburgh,i found out they'd played edinburgh quite a few times, but also read at one gig at the playhouse barney was qouted as saying"he hates edinburgh and there council"was anybody at this gig.

cheers

Only been to 3 new order gigs, 2 in Edinburgh :).

They played in the Caley Palais in Feb 85(Now a cheesy club on Lothian Road).Support then was The Wake. The other gig was the Playhouse in 86 I think, tho the Happy Mondays were not in support.

I think the Monday's supported them in Glasgow in 87?, though i don't recall being too impressed with them at the time!

There were a couple of Edinburgh gigs in 1983 as well, at Coasters and the Assembly Hall. The Coasters gig marked the debut of Confusion.
