Did anyone get it yet? Since I've been out for 2 weeks, I have to ask.
I'm sure looking in a way to buy it, and get the song via ways that can't be mentionned here of course ![]()
Since I'll buy it, I guess they won't mind...

Hi Nicolas, nice to see you back.
Someone at Ceremony mailing list uploaded a clip of 3 minutes here, so we can have an idea of how the song is.
To buy the real thing have a look at this thread.
My credit card was charged so I expect mine in a week or so (I'm in the US) and would be happy to set you up but I think there's already several members that have it.
Hi Nicos
Hope you're enjoying your trip crossing the ocean :D
Kill a bit of your curiosity here

Elazaro was disturbing me on Mirc this time.
Only this Ricardo ![]()
I live in the US, got mine Saturday, So they should be delivered to those who order at the start, very soon It is certified, u have to sign for it,
Just to clear things up, it's not called 'Ambient'! The title is simply 'The Peter Saville Show Soundtrack' and it clocks in at 30:12 (for your records, Spotnik).
Andy.
very nice piece of music! got mine last friday, and i ordered on moday by fax, so it didn't take a full week to get it in germany. i quite like it, nice acoustic guitars, decent drumming in some parts ![]()
I ordered mine by mail a week ago, I hope they (a) still have some and (b) I get it soon. The excerpt sounds great.
I phoned them and they said they mailed mine. And my credit card was billed, so it should be soon. But you know that Canadian mail service (sucks).
for quicker despatch ring the design museum on (sorry dont know the code from canada to the uk!) heres the number: 020 79408773 i ordered mine via credit card and it arrived 2 days later! regards steve smith,uk :)
alright then. i sat down in front of my computer, put my headphones on, lighted a cigarette and 30 minutes later this is my opinion of Soundtrack: it´s really good though it could be a lot shorter (half size perhaps). it´s really hard to keep your atention on anything for 30 minutes. even more if there´s no much surprises going on. even though i must say i loved to hear Soundtrack. not so much because of the song itself (which is great) but because i´m very happy to se NewOrder doing this kind of stuff. they have the ability to do it and they don´t do it very often. and i guess this is the kind of stuff that they´ll do in the future, when they quit touring, when they see their musical expression has some kind of dead end on pop/rock/electronic style of music. and i´ll love to hear that!

Well, remember, it's a "soundtrack", or as per the alleged original title, "ambient", so it's background music.
Music for Museums, one might call it. Especially if that one was named Brian... ![]()
i agree with you about the song being thought as background music for a particular event. but they made a cd. so why selling the song if they don´t want us to listen to it. i mean to REALLY listen. i tried but it´s hard! :D

Yeah, but just think if they did it and DIDN'T put it out on CD!

You know the story about how Eno "invented" ambient, right?
You mean the "Ambient Sound" aka Microsoft sound? ;)
BTW, anyone has a spare copy willing to see for a payment via paypal.. my last choice is snail mail, and fax, well, I don't even know where to start to send a fax to the UK ;) And I'm not even thinking of calling.. last time somebody called me from London, he was speaking so fast that with the accent I lost 50% of what he was saying ![]()
eCommerce would be nice, isn't it? ;)
I pre-ordered mine and it arrived in New Zealand on June 21. I love it, it's a great track.
Even my better half likes it! I played it for 3 hours continuous during a Sunday afternoon birthday gathering and nobody complained!
Alright, I hate to ask, because I'd love to give the band/Saville/museum my money, but I'm totally broke so there is no way that I can fly to London for the show or email the museum or bid on Ebay, but:
Anyone have an mp3 (or know where I can find an mp3) of this ambient "Soundtrack"? Another thread mentioned Cocteau Twins, Eno, and Red House Painters while describing it and now I'm REALLY DYING to have this track.

It's on here, along with nmany other goodies. It's long, though, so it might take a while to download it. ftp://chris@80.110.237.124

BLESS YOU, KIND FRIEND!! Wow, there really are a LOT of amazing morsels there, eh?
Once "Soundtrack" is finished (yeah, even with DSL it's taking awhile - BUT I'M NOT COMPLAINING!) I may dip back in for one of those Futureshock remixes of "Someone Like You" (again, couldn't afford to buy the "60 MPH" singles...).

By the way, the Brian Eno story:
He was sick in bed once and a friend came over to see how he was doing. As she was leaving he asked her to put on the stereo. Unfortunately she set the volume too low and one of the speakers was broken, so he could just barely hear the music over the, ahem, ambient sounds in the room (birds, cars in the street, dogs, neighbors, whatever). It drove him nuts not being able to hear it properly and being too sick to get up and change it.
After a while he relaxed and started to like it.
The whole idea is that it's music to be heard, not music to be listened to. An excellent, classic ambient album is the KLF's Chill Out.

So does mine: she always wants it in the car (she must like the danger of me falling asleep while driving :D)
