I'm attempting to make a New Order tribute album for myself-made New Order box set, and I wonder if you have any suggestions. Here's what I have so far.

"Bizarre Love Triangle"-Frente! "Regret"-The Get Up Kids "Hurt"-Bis "In a Lonely Place"-Bush "Ceremony"-Galaxie 500 "Blue Monday"-Orgy "Your Silent Face"-Velocity Girl "Can't Get Blue Monday Out of My Head"-Kylie Minogue "Temptation/Star Guitar"-The Chemical Brothers

Obviously, I'm trying to focus on the covers by more popular bands, but suggestions of any worthy NO covers would be appreciated.

i heard a cover of "blue monday" in a los angeles club, and it sounded like bjork was singing it... it was REALLY bjork, but close. i know it doesn't help much, but this cover kicks the sh*t outta orgy's cover.

See, I told you it sounds like Bjork. That's Flunk, apparently. Check this thread; I just checked and the download link still works. (And no, it's not stealing...it's a freebie.)

Are you sure about this? I've never heard of this cover before.

The Oyster Band - Love Vigilantes.

You could make it the "hidden" track.

...and i knew the bjork-ish BM cover band started with an "f". now i can get some sleep tonight, instead of racking my brain...

It's on the Chems' American EP.

Is it just NO? Or both JD and NO? If the latter's the case, use the Cure's cover of LWTUA.

i have a live version of regret by the afghan whigs. and i remember that when "gentleman" came out the rolling stone review referred to them as a heavy metal (or hard rock, which seems more apt) joy division. i think it referred more to the lyrics than anything else. greg dulli does not seem like a happy camper.

What about Isolation - Smashing Pumpkins?

And Disorder - Pavement (55 seconds)?

She's lost control - Girls against boys

Putz Andrei,

I just cannot stop smiling now

This picture of Seu Madruga (Chavo Del 8) from Mexico makes me remember some great and funny moments I had in my childhood

You are the one ! :thumb:

Is there any way I could get the mp3 of Bis - Hurt off you? I have pretty much every other New Order cover out there in mp3 format, so I could send you anything you'd like in return.

Are you looking for rock covers or just good ones? Dream Attack by MinGys is pretty good. But if you want rock or metal covers, try Biopsy - Fine Time. Pretty heavy. Or how about Special by Philip Obando? Not heavy, but one of the best covers I've heard yet.

Are you sure about this? I've never heard of this cover before. NIN's version of "in a lonely place" is on the soundtrack of "The Crow 2" movie. Their version of "dead souls" is on the first soundtrack.

blue audio does a better job covering bizzare love triangle than frente!. they are an indie-synth band. actually its only one guy. you might still be able to find it at blueaudio.com
