Steve & Gillian's only (this is a pessimistic view only, I hope they are recording a new album ready for an august release).
it was a rush job to get it out asap for the hope album so wouldn't have thought it would have any bearing on the album sessions
I thought that the Vietnam recording was done "on the fly" specifically for the war relief effort, didnt they go into the studio to specifically record that? Its likely that the new album has a long way to go yet, we all know the band are quite perfectionist when it comes to mixing down tracks and putting out classy tunes.
Im happy to wait till next year to get a quality neworder product and not some rushed job for the benefit of a few impatient people!!

The photo of Ian is from Effenaar, Eindhoven (HATYM), probably during New Dawn Fades or Colony.
It doesn't have to be one or the other, they could be recording the album at Steve and Gillian's. I bet they have better equipment there than many pro studios, and it makes sense to do it somewhere familiar and with a friendly hourly rate.
