Overall, TX had nothing that we didn't know from the NO story or the Manchester Rock Family Tree programme on UK Arena a few years back. Two points: 1 Brotherhood was not NO's first UK top ten: PC&L, Low-life. 2 Moby, you sycophantic left-wing ****, the first track on Movement was something called Dreams Never End; not Ceremony.
On a lesser point,I also thought they tried to imply that EGG was on Movement.
Wilson's analysis of Movement was spot-on though: Barney trying to write like Ian.

That's a bit harsh - how many kick-off tracks can you name twenty three years after they were released ?

I thought that, but you can actually interpret what Radcliffe says in two ways. i.e. a "track" in it's own right, or a "track" off Movement ;)

I quite liked the documentry, especially the questions they asked Barney and Hookey. Hopefully there'll be some more good ones next week.
What version of temptation was playing in the background? It sounded like the 7" but was a bit different. was it the 12" version?

I liked the documentary too; shame I'll be away when they broadcast part 2. :( I'll see if I can catch it in Radio 2's archive when I get home.
It was good. I'm old enough to remember it was basically an update of a documentary the Poptabulous BBC Radio 1 did in 1987 or 88 (which was the source of the Martin Hannett & Rob Gretton interviews...lord only knows how they persuaded either of them to take part at the time especially Hannett). Think some of the Peter Saville and Gillians quotes are from the 80s show too
I enjoyed the resonant ping of Tony Wilsons smoke alarm which obviously needs a new battery fitting.
And I loved the story about Bono congratulating Gretton backstage at Top of the Pops in '83 and saying U2 wished they'd written a song like 'Blue Monday'..."Yeah but yer didn't did yer?" came the reply.
