True Faith cass single reissue mix--anyone hear it?

OK, I have a cassette single reissue (one of those plain cardboard cover reissue singles they made when trying to push the cass. single format in the US). It has True Faith on one side, and Blue Monday 88 on the other. Here's the thing though, the chorus on True Faith is horrendously edited so that it goes as follows:

I used to think that the day would never come I'd see the light in the shade of the morning sun My morning sun is a drug that leaves me here And my life would depend on the morning sun

It's really bad and lyrically makes no sense, but I've kept it cause I haven't found it on any comps or even spoken about by anyone on any site. Anyone else know of this atrocity or how it came to be (I'm thinking the business suits got to it and thought this version would sell better)!?

Actually, this edited version of Shep Pettibone's remix has the chorus lyrics:

I used to think that the day would never come I'd see the light in the shade of the morning sun My morning sun is the drug that brings me near That my life would depend on the morning sun

Which makes even less sense! I always thought that edit was very brutal, and should've left the complete choruses in, as the 12" remix does. A bad edit of a good mix! Andy.
