Well, live is a big word isn't it? :D

Here it is, courtesy of our co-webmaster Sébastien (The Man Up North)

New Order - Here To Stay (Live at Top of the Pops)

Be warned, it's a 18 Mb download, it's in AVI compressed with DivX (I guess), so you need the codec (divx.com)...

I will eventually convert it to a more proper format and put it in the video archives.

If the site is very slow, you'll know why (leechers!)...

Am I right to assume that they are Lip syncing to the song?

Sounds too good for a live performance.

It can. They had rehearsed it for the summer 2002 gigs, and it was intended to be in the set, but it was left off in favour of WIFM.

Nice one! :thumb:

...but is this a special TOTP-edit ??? it's only three minutes long and it's missing the whole second verse...but it's nice to see Hooky playing a Gibson Thunderbird bass on this one.

Yes it's edited. The reason being that TOTP is only 30 minutes long, and Doves had the highest new entry that week and thus were allowed to play the full seven odd minutes of "There Goes The Fear". Which they did. Live. Very well. Didn't mime at all. Or dance embarrasingly.

New Order weren't the only casualties that night. Nickelback had to speed through theirs as well. Which was lucky...

Doves were great on that show. Doves are great full stop. Looking forward to seeing them at Leeds fest this year.
