I like the Ceremony vid on NewOrderStory cos of the bloke in the middle of the floor dancing on his own.

TPK edges out True Faith because it's a great full version of the band's best song. It also features the band exclusively, which can be its downfall because there isn't a lot of action to it--but I rather prefer watching how they play than being bombarded with a clusterfuck of random images (as in BLT). Also, Gillian looks positively lovely in it, so that's a plus. And the disgusted sideways looks on their faces after they finish is priceless.

Some cracking videos on there eh?

The simplicity of TPK or the piss taking of TBTHOG, Crystal and 60mah?

My money still has to go with the one that started it all for me in the Summer of '87. Nose just out in front for True Faith.

I say True Faith...

The comedic value of this is immeasurable. And i just think it really fits in with the song. Its sort of indescribable...

Would have voted for regret, i just love the video, i think the camerawork makes it really effective. TPK is good, really good in fact. But just doesnt come up to standard, and TBTHOG is too much of a piss take to be taken seriously.

True Faith, the beginning for me.

TPK, cause NO are getting on with the performance of the song, and not acting toward the camera. I always laugh when Barney licks his lips at the beginning as well.

 This is so hard, but I picked Perfect Kiss. Here to Stay and TBTHOG were close, and I like Confusion for its cheesiness, but I went for TPK. Tomorrow, I could like HTS more, since I honestly love that video, but I'm honestly a video junkie. When Launch.com took away most of the PET shop videos in its archive - leaving only Yesterday When I was mad - I literally went berzerk.

for me....

"Best" video...Blt...because I refuse to come back as a bug or as a rabbit!!...yeah I know I'm a real "up" person...I just think that this video really captures the song's essence and vitality along with the traditional sense of NO humor.

"Favorite" video would have to be the Run video...there is something truly touching, absurd and simple about the interplay betweem the young girl and the old man (much like barney's lyrics imho) . And the comparison of barney's crazy dancing alongside that of the young girl's (the spin move on both is my favorite) has a truly personal feel to it and I feel as if I'm being let in on a "real" moment rather than a produced or staged one.

Most "Interesting" videos have to be World and Round and Round. I like the cinematographic nature of both of them along with the conceptual element of the connected long shot.

I honestly don't get the True Faith video...I guess its supposed to be "high concept" and all but it just looks like a goofy "art house" production that is very self conscious as is ths Regret video in my estimation. Both of these videos try too hard to be cool/interesting and therefore aren't....

I must've missed a few of these - what did they do for True Faith 94, Blue Monday 95 and what was different about the US video for Crystal? Oh, and perhaps someone can remind what Spooky was. I remember the band weren't in it, but can't quite place it myself.

I'll probably have to say True Faith itself, cos it was so inventive for its time. Perfect Kiss 2nd, but that grates after a while.

That wasn't a vid it was just footage from at TV show - was it Celebration or something?

Yeh, but still major cool. And always a bonus to hear Barney's "wounded moose" impressions in the old days.

For major cool, try and track down Ceremony from Reading 89 on bootleg vid. Unbelievable, the way the lazers scan over the audience, and the geezer video'ing it goes into long-pan from what seems like miles back so you see the entire festival lit up. Quality! Up there with some of the long range shots you get for WIM on 316.

My vote goes to True Faith (the original), the song that started it all for me.

True Faith '94 was just a bunch of excerpts from other videos played during the True Faith from (the best of). BM 95 was just another video to the 95 mix of BM that was mostly a bunch of computer-generated images, but I have only watched it once since I can't stand BM95. As for Crystal, a video for the Club Mix (Digweed and Muir mix) was created in the US. NO isn't in it, and it's really rather boring and inferior to the video for the original version of Crystal, which is still shown in the US. Spooky also didn't have NO in it, but it was.. well, it's kind of hard to explain. I haven't seen it much, but I do remember 3 people, in white, some large box-like masks, some strange images, and something that looked like a wedding at the end.

Also, is the live video of "World" mentioned? I've seen it a few times and it was really pretty good, but not up to the performance of NO in the studio in TPK.

TPK of course. I think it's the best video ever made, so it should easily be the best one by New Order...

this is possibly the hardest poll i've seen on the forum since i started posting. it was between true faith and bizarre love triangle... but true faith got it by a whisker. then however, i had to decide between true faith 94 and the original. i chose true faith '94, reason being is because it's all new order's videos in 4 and a bit minutes, and you still get the feeling of what the original true faith video is about. plus, true faith '94 is good when you're bored - you can use it as a quiz, and guess where all the clips are from lol :thumb:

TPK seemed the obvious choice, loved it to death since way back when. Quite recently obtained The Best Of video and I happen to think that WORLD is the best video currently. I'm very keen on the location and direction of the video.Plus i'm warming to the song finally!:thumb:

Live video? Do you mean the TOTP performance? Cheating, surely? If so, then the DEFINITIVE Norder performance had to be TOTP True Faith, just as the camera pans down across the band as Bernard arcs his head at the intro! Quality!

No TV performances though, and no live videos, this is promo vids only!!!

Cos otherwise Solitude would be in for a few shouts for no.1 slot! (all filmed by his own fair hand!)...

No, I don't mean the TOTP performance. I remember when neworderweb.com was up, they had 2 versions of World - the one in B&W and another with the band playing to a large crowd, but it doesn't fully look like a live performance since there's some visual distortion. I know in the video Barney's in a blue shirt and dancing on stage.

It is live footage but set to the album version of World. Lot's of good clips of the band and Barney's dancing hadn't yet deteriorated to the level it is now. The whole gig may have been filmed as some footage shows Barney in the above mentioned blue shirt and other bits show him in just his undershirt.

It appears to be an outdoor venue but one scene shows the crowd and there is an upper level/balcony section of seats. Could it be Kingswood Amphitheatre in Toronto?

Hooky's cabinet says "Bass how low can you go?" but I don't think he changed it from gig to gig on that tour.

They are all online here Al.

Let's say that I hope that someday BM95 & Nineteen63 will be available on something, because they aren't, I had a recorded tape from Dennis Remmer of the Australia Rage show as a source..

There is also the World "Perfecto" version, but it's the same thing..

A DVD collection would be good..

The Perfect Kiss had my vote. But World and Regret videos are fantastic, too.
