San Diego/SoCal Piss Up

I notice that at least a couple of us are in the greater San Diego area (I spend a fair amount of time in LA as well). I missed the recent, geographically misguided American tour, and I'm guessing most or all of us are not lucky enough to go to Ol' Blighty and give Benny, Shug, Al et al the abuse they deserve in person. So who else is sick of hearing about that great gig in Sheffield in '86, which weren't nearly as good as the legendary Finsbury show in '87 but far better than the infamous Liverpool Disaster of '81? Who's game for meeting for drinks at some point in our end of the world? And can anyone think of a good excuse to do so in the not-too-distant future (vicinity of August 6-9 being off limits)?

Does the lack of response give you a clue ?

hey, mister grumpy-pants. chase's post was done at 8:56pm pacific time, meaning that those of us with office jobs are out doing other things aside from sitting behind a computer.

chase, i am up for drinks. i live in University Heights (Near El Cajon Blvd and 30th). My only time constraints are my wed. night/sun. night rehearsal schedule and the short tour of the west coast i am doing with my band (august 23-31). Other than that, i am all for it! Did you have any place in mind?

We can't all live in Greenwich Mean.

Hey Sean, I considered just emailing you directly but I figured I'd post here just in case anyone else was interested. I'm in Mira Mesa so I'm not far from you. My only near-future scheduling conflict has me in LA from the 6th to the 9th (or so), other than that I'm pretty flexible. I don't have any particular place in mind...I like the Local (4th and C) and the Hillcrest/University area, but I still don't know SD that well. I'll shoot you an email with my phone number right now.

Is anyone planning on going to the DVD release party in hollywood that was mentioned on the main page? on the 14th? I think a couple of friends of mine (at least one) will be in attendance.

I'd forgotten about it, but if I happen to be in LA that day I may go.

I'm glad 316 is finally being released (hopefully exactly the same as the UK version), even though it makes my Region 2 PAL copy redundant. Fucking DVD manufacturers... :chainsaw:

Well, have a look around then - can you tell which bar you're in? We'll meet you there!
