I can just smell the piracy coming from these two ebay finds... what's the high bid for the dvd of the music vids?

Greatest Hits sits at 22.92 I believe, and 9.99 for PFD...he's also got Brixton 87 on DVD as well...

shall I purchase all 3 of these, and then distribute them amongst the faithful?

I bought the "best of" DVD along time ago from the guy. It's pretty good, but not great. It has no menu And there is a pause inbetween each song, where he put each chapter, and the songs have different sound volume on different songs. Sometimes its too high or to low. But the good part is you get most of there videos on dvd. Taken from the best of Japanese laser disk, and Crystal to Here to stay taken from the dvd singles. And he added Temptation 98 to boot

The clips from "The Best of" have different sound volume? That doesn't sound good...:skeptic:

I guess the sound from the best of is the same. Only the pauses bug me. But when Crystal comes on the sound really drops you need to adjust the volume And when 60 miles comes on the sound goes high and goes down again on Here to stay. And gets really high for Temptation 98.

And I forgot to mention sometimes the dvd skips but sometimes it does not. I guess sometimes the dvd player has trouble reading the information. I have 2 dvd players and this happens on both.

But overall I do like it. I think its worth getting until the real thing comes out.

This will save the day...

Best thing I've seen in years!

Nice one, Nic

Chances are that Warner will put the lot out on DVD to coincide with the new album. I'd avoid buying these from ebay - may as well just watch the vids for now...

a nice, official DVD would be nice...waited for 3 16, and it happened...so who knows?

Good to see that you've finally made peace with your inner self - all you need now is a mate who's willing to change his name to Jimmy Five-Bellies, a wife to beat up and the opportunity to have a good cry in public.

That guy's been selling NewOrder 'dvds' for quite a while - Best Of, PFD, NewOrderStory, Academy etc. Best Of always seem to go up higher than it deserves, IMO. Afterall it's just a homemade copy ! (This clearly shows there really are demands for it, though. It was said hundreds times before and I'll say it again: what are they thinking not releasing it officially ?!)

I myself bought the Academy one from him some time ago, I was so tired of hunting for a decent ntsc copy or waiting for the official dvd release :nonono: I wasn't expecting too much but the quality turned out rather watchable/listenable (though not 'exceptional'). Not a bad buy if it's under $20..

Well, as everyone seems to think that New Order's 'Retro' should have followed the example set by the Pet Shop Boys' album reissues, it's only fitting that they will be releasing a 'best of' DVD with every video included later in the year. Surely an updated 'Best Of New Order' with all the latest stuff would be a desirable release? Just a simple, chronological playlist of all the videos from 'Ceremony' (if it had one) to 'Here To Stay' would be the best bet?

By the way, 'PFD' is available on region 2 DVD for Europe and Asia, if you buy it from Japan... Have it in my collection already.

The thing is that I'd have to sell my soul to purchase that Japanese PFD... it costs almost U$50, as I recall. Not worthy... to many better things to do with such cash...

BTW, Andy, that extended mix of "Rapture" is a regular title on my Winamp... I like it a lot. Congrats!

Thanks very much! Nice to see people actually download my mp3s. I'll be uploading a few new ones in a week or two (as soon as I can be arsed to finish mixing one last tune), so keep an eye out for those too.

Cheers, Andy.
