What side project is weak or your favorite or sub-par to the rest?

Though the side projects are good, I think Revenge is my least favorite. I have OTP v2 and it seems repetitive. Like one song or two is an alternate version under new song title or mixes throughout the album.

Yeah, it is Revenge for me too, but I still think they have done some great songs...best of which is Soul on OTPv2

Revenge easily. The only track that really stands out for me by them is 14K.

Other Two without a doubt. it´s full of cliches, stupid melodies, lowsy lyrics and very poor instrumentation. at least Revenge had power!

Most of the best songs that I've ever heard came out from Electronic's first two albums...Gangster, Get The Message, Some Distant Memory, Feel Every Beat, Disappointed, I Feel Alright, Forbidden City, For You, Out Of My League, How Long, Time Can Tell...All of these are pure genius!

Nothing against Hooky, but with Revenge he proved that he can't sing in any way. There are some highlights, but if you sum it all up Revenge is definitely in last place.

Hooky can sing, but Revenge isnt it, Monaco tracks like Sweet Lips, thats powerful.

I though The Other Two were pretty good until I heard Super Highways. I can't bear to listen to it. :dead: Revenge is much better. Electronic is even better :thumb: :thumb: and Monaco is the best IMHO. :music:  :D

I guess you have a problem with Hooky :evil4: . I don't like Revenge either, but Monaco is great...

Well...I liked One True Passion, but couldn't stand Gun World Porn...I liked all 3 Electronic CDs...I liked The Other Two and You, but didn't much care for Superhighways...and I've not heard too much of Monaco...

but the weakest of the four, to me, was The Other Two...just a bit too syrupy sweet for me...

So since Gillian is out of the music biz, it's time for Stevie boy to do his OWN side project...this time he'd have to do the singning, and he'd need to call it something nifty...like...

The original Revenge releases were a bit messy. The re-releases are bloody brilliant though...

I feel almost sad for peter hook. He tried and tried and still it never caught on.

Bollocks  Music for pleasure is a fantastic pop album which definitely 'caught on' :) More than a handful of tracks from that LP perfectly substituted for New Order's (then) absence and made respectable dents on the charts notably with What do you want from me? (This is coming from the resident Monaco nutter of course :D) But Wdywfm? definitely had a similar reception as Regret had for New Order; a perfect pop song and people knew it.

Revenge were a bit misguided I have to agree... I like a handful of tracks from the first LP and I genuinely think Gun World Porn was a step in the right direction for his (and Pottsy's) songwriting. However killing Revenge and starting afresh with Monaco was Hooky's smartest move out of all the non-NO work he's done; Revenge were a bit too much of a critical joke in the music press at the time. The Other Two album was never intended to break any moulds or set the world on fire; it was just Steve and Gillian doing their thing, so it's simply decent pop music a'la Saint Etienne.

Electronic are great, and Monaco and The Other Two have several very good songs. I have One True Passion and I actually think the music itself is quite good, the vocals, I hate to say, really don't measure up. So, the answer is Revenge for me.

I can't say I'm overly familiar with Revenge but what I have heard I haven't liked. I also do not like Electronic. It sounds datedf or just dodgy to me. A second-rate New Order. People may disagree here but I'm just expressing an opinion.

I've gotta go with the general concensuss & say that Revenge was probably the worst side project, however "Jesus...I Love You" is an amazing track. It all went down hill after that, with the exception of "State of Shock".

Revenge! Can't be any other way...
