ive been playing many records by many groups on p.c.tonight i have to say; for you-electronic is the most upish track all night :thumb: if done by new order would it have been an order classic ?

 Class! Great lyrics as well if you ignore that la la la la part in the end, sounds a bit cheesy. Haven't played it in a while but it's now on a repeat here. Would make it a cool NO tune too, well not exactly in say Crystal's or TF (sorry just the first 2 songs that come to mind) league, but it would be even more brill with some input from Hooky master.

"Can we meet on the street, maybe tomorrow..."

I remember a pretty cheesy video to it as well, with Bernard in a caravan in the middle of a field or something.

How high did this get in the charts, top 20? Forbidden City made no. 4 didn't it?

top tune. In need of a decent - extended mix in my eyes - but a very nice little pop record.

Forbidden City on made no.14? Could have sworn it made no.4. Still that summer was one spent in an alocoholic haze. I can't belive that Feel Every Beat only got to no.39. I hope these are the Pepsi Shite Chart listings.

"For you" is awesome, like every song on Raise the Pressure. The lyrics are slightly cheesy in parts, true, but the music and Barney's vocals here more than make up for it.

I can't believe Second Nature was so low. That song is addictive. I can never get it out of my head. Too bad the remixes are crap.

I agree completely! In fact, I voted it number 1 in The Definitive Top 10 Side Project Songs thread.
I've learned not to pay too much attention to the charts. Too much politics and too much influenced by record and radio exectutives instead of the best songs being at the top of the charts.

For You is fabulous, and I wish it had gotten more airplay in town (I heard it twice after the album came out.. but the other Top 40 music out at the time can be to blame for that).

I have some inkling that if released as an Order track it could have gone two ways - panned as too sentimental (a la Run Wild) or jacked up to a rockier growl which would have actually fell in well with the music that was getting played around here at that time.

It's a sure bet to be on my mp3 player when I'm out driving around. :thumb:

RTP is the best album New Order never made- and this is a very good example of that (IMHO).

not to mention the video where Barney actually shows a happy face for once ... very uplifting
