Excited about Bad Lt, but.....

Hey guys

It's been a while since i posted on here. I've been mad busy. New job. I live with my girlfriend now. And I don't have as much time to chill by my pc like before. But I did wanna come on and say that I can't wait to hear the new project...It's just that, why does Bernard have to share singing duties with that other guy??? Does this bother anyone else??? I don't want my new order spin off featuring any vocals besides Barneys. And why not make Steven Morris a full time member?? What's the deal with that? Do they use another drummer for some tracks?? Weird. Anyways, with all that said, still can't wait to hear the album. Sink or Swim sounds pretty cool, so i'm sure the rest of the album will sound nothing like it, knowing Barney and the New Order aesthetic.

I understand Stephen had to attend to his daughter for some of the time they were recording - so he wasn't able to play/write on some of thew tunes.

As to why this other guy gets to sing, I dunno. Not thrilled by it either.

So, maybe he was willing to let Jake sing because he believes in his (Jake's) singing abilities?

And still, if you're not satisfied, Bernard's singing on most of the album anyway.

I heard Dynamo today and wasn't that much impressed with it, it sounds like a B-side from Twisted Tenderness, let's hope that the rest of the songs on the album are not like that, maybe that's the reason they are giving it away with the Sink or Swin single, but to be honest Dynamo is nothing to be impressed with, sorry but I have to be honest.

don't worry the album is very good you will like it, it is very New Orderish and Jake is only in a couple of songs and he does a good job, overall very enjoyable album to listen to.

Sink or Swim begins with, "What'cha doin'...", sounding embarrassingly familiar.

Then today, I listen to Dynamo and have to hear, "Hey, there what'cha gonna do?", and I think 'Good Lord', then another line about buying/driving a car, etc.

How many times does Barney think he can get away with saying the same thing over and over, with slightly different words.

If he hasn't a new thought, keep it to himself.

God, as much as I have loved New Order/Barney's lyrics and voice/ Hooky's bass and Stephen's underrated drumming, I would be embarrassed to play these Bad Lt. songs in front of my friends. So may Genius lyrics and now we get over and over, hey, Joe, what'cha doin', don't care what others say, it's just a beautiful day" or whatever.

Yet, I will likely end up with every format/version of the LP and singles as I have done for the last 23 years.

What truly excites me is Hooky. 'Sugar Daddy', the demo not good enough for the Freebass LP, is on 'heavy rotation' on my iPod. I smile every time I hear it.

I try to hear Barney singing over it with some Low-Life era lyrics and pretend everything is peachy.

Even Hook's remixes excite me more than rehashed, shite lyrics.

I have now joined the group on this forum I have always disliked. Supposed Die Hard Fans, bashing the new stuff because it isn't the old stuff. But, come on, more, 'yeahyeahyeahyeahyeah's in the chorus and.... nvermnd.

Know what you mean about different vocals. Am going to the gig in London but trying not to get my hopes up. Somehow I reckon it won't be the same. I just hope one day new order play again. The review said it sounds a bit weird without hooky's bass and I reckon that will be the obvious missing ingredient plus the fact that you always felt connected with the big man on a personal level at live gigs. I got a ticket for jon ross show when they played jetstream (my mate is the floor manager). Actually got my picture disc signed by the boys but got the right arse when that stupid cow ana matronic (what kind of a fuckin name is that anyway!!!)sang flat and made them sound crap. Then she was giving it large in the bar afterwards. I know Barney is no pavarotti but she pissed me off. The only saving grace was hooky's bass sounded awesome in a small studio. Wonder what his new band is like or how serious he is? Lets hope one day they call a truce and get it on again.

I like the concept of Freebass, and the members involved, but I'll have to listen to some proper songs (not just the demos) to judge them. Individually, I like Hooky's bass, Mani's bass, as well as Rourke's bass.
