I got it from the same site. Its not really much different. Innocence sounds slightly different in places to my ears. While Selfish is an early mix which is unfinished, a lot less produced with a louder snare - which makes it sound more like 1989 new order as oppose to 1993 new order. I couldn't hear any other differences. Still its been mastere at a very high bit-rate and sounds great overall

Selfish sounds better here, simpler. Hague must have softened the drums and added more string synths to try it more adult contempary commercial market. Did they ever really know what market they were going for anyway? New Order fans? House? Pop? Indie? Radio for middle aged women? No wonder Factory didnt know what to do with The Other Two. Selfish and Tasty Fish are cool in their own unique way thou.

As much as they're taking the piss Steve and Mick do have a point  At the end of the day this is copyrighted music and it's probably a bit much having it so publicly linked here on MFP. Regardless of whether the O2 album is long out of print; there's an LTM reissue in the works and you can pick up the original CD for pennies on Ebay :)

Nobody's stopping people from Googling the source blog etc. and finding this promo torrent that way but it would be good to keep these - well this - forum free of specific links to copyrighted musak.

Sorry!

Sorry - I used to follow these kind of rules on here. However, since we've had all this Recycle malarkey all over the place I thought the rules had changed.

I linked to an external site - I don't post direct links here.

Despite the fact that the pre-release promo cassette differs from the proper album release, it's a fair point that TO2's catalog is about to be re-released.

Rhino had their chance - twice - to get NO's singles catalog out and they botched it both times. Recycle is just cleaning up the mess.

The NOOL guidelines regarding copyrighted material - of any type - as far as I'm aware haven't really changed but at the same time I'm definitely not slagging off £50's Recycle; it's been expertly done and looks/sounds great next to the botched job the band's label just about managed.

I have no control over what goes on in other forums but on here for the moment I think it's best to remove direct links to places offering copyrighted musak for free. Unless Spotnick says otherwise anyway as it's his website.

As noted there is a an Other Two reissue in the pipeline for next year :)

It's a fair cop !

Surely though all you moderators need to be consistent across all the forums on NOOL. There is a thread on the Main New Order forum for the "Run 2 Mixes" at the moment with a direct link to the same site I referenced above!

If you are not all consistent then posters will easily get confused about what is and isn't ok to post.

For what it's worth, I agree!

Out of interest anyone know why the LTM website has been updated and no longer lists the Other Two in the forthcoming releases?
