Being a horrible insomniac pays off? Right? Well, I pulled out my Revenge collection and did a little album (with some b-sides) comparison of tracks release in the US and those released in the UK & elsewhere. I greatly enjoy both versions as they stand. Available releases so very different in the mixing, US all rough while the UK crisp and jangled.. Not owning the original UK release of One True Passion I am wondering if anyone can tell me if the mixes on the original UK release were the same? Say what you will, Revenge was certainly fun if nothing else. (digging around in closet trying to find Fac247 vinyl, know those mixes were different too...grrr!)

US: 1. Big bang -One True Passion 2. 7 Reasons - One True Passion 3. Kiss The Chrome - One true Passion 4. Surf nazi - One True Passion 5. 14K - Pineapple Face 5" 6. Pineapple Face (Pineapple Face's Big Day Remix) - Pineapple Face 5" 7. Slave - One True Passion 8. Jesus...I Love You (7" edit) - Slave (US e.p.) 9. Bleach Boy - Pineapple Face 5" 10. Little Pig - Gun World Porn 11. Cloud Nine (Bianco Remix) - Gun World Porn 12. Deadbeat - Gun World Porn 13. State Of Shock (cut and paralyzed) - Gun World Porn 14. It's Quiet - One True Passion

UK: 1. Big Bang - V2 2. Seven Reasons - Factory Box 3. Kiss The Chrome - V2 4. Surf Nazi - V2 5. 14K (full length) - Slave (Japan) 6. Pineapple Face's Big Day Out - V2 7. Slave - V2 8. Jesus...I Love You (7" edit) - Revenge 9. Bleach Boy - Revenge 10. Little Pig - V2 11. Cloud 9 - V2 12. Deadbeat - V2 13. State of Shock - V2 14. It's Quiet - V2

I don't think there are any major differences between the Factory and Capitol releases of One True Passion in terms of the mixes used. Unlike the differences between the UK and US Gun World Porn which were numerous; you're bang on the money about the UK pressings sounding jangly and crisp whereas the US ones are a lot more rough and ready...

One tiny difference off the top of my head is that the UK CD has a "hidden" sound clip a few minutes after the end of "It's Quiet" whereas the US CD just ends once the music stops. The sound clip just sounds like the end of a gig with a low keyboard note and Hooky (?) going "bom.... bom". Literally 4-5 seconds. Also, on the UK CD just after Pineapple Face's music finishes there's a sort of feedback noise (1 second) not on the US one. Again, barely noticeable.

That is "Love You Too"... a sort of stripped down dub of "Jesus... I Love You". Not available on CD and didn't make OTP V2.0 either.
