Now that I'm off were for a few days, I have some time...

to wait for Bad Lieutenant to come to the US or Freebass or Electronic or Monaco or New Order

There are 3 Monaco tracks I could never obtain. See Saw Lab Rats Dub See Saw Solaris Dub See Saw Lab Rats Let Loose... If anyone has these to share..it would be a Christmas miracle........well maybe not. But it would be nice.

Merry Christmas everyone. If anyone of these bands make it to the US, I'll see you there.

I don't know the third one.

You can easily find these on soulseek:

solaris club solaris dub Labrats vocal Labrats dub

Lots of second hand See-Saw promos on Discogs for very little cash here. Free to sign up and I've never had any problems buying from sellers on there (although use the usual common sense). Some going for as little as £1 or 50 pence.

Realistically even with postage to the States you could grab both the 2x12" and the white label 12" for less than a tenner. You probably wouldn't get it until the Xmas postage backlog is out of the way but you'd still get them in January.

Cheers.

Thanks for the help. I do see the 12" can easily be found, but I don't have a record player anymore. Thanks anyway

Are record players difficult to obtain nowadays? I'd better stock up on spare ones then... :)

What is a record player again?

I didn't really want to start a new topic, but I recently bought a new mint copy of Monaco's Music For Pleasure on vinyl for 22.99 pounds shipped to the US and was wondering if that was a fair price? In my search I also noticed there was another nice copy on Amazon UK for 16 pounds in case anyone else was looking for one. Cheers.

Had to re-read there because I thought you meant the regular CD which would've had alarm bells ringing at that price! I think these days the vinyl LP would go for in the region of 15-25 pounds so you probably got it for a reasonable price. Plus it's much harder to come by than the CD... minty mint I hope?

It's a nice item, double vinyl gate-fold sleeve detailing all that classy Saville artwork. I remember I bought mine for around 16-17 quid in '97.

1997 to 2000 was that period where vinyl LPs - at least here in the UK - were dying a death sort of... until that 7" single revolution towards the mid-naughties that brought them back somewhat. I would guess MFP probably wasn't manufactured in large amounts on vinyl.

Thanks for the reply and information. I always find it tough to judge the value of LPs these days, prices seem to fluctuate a lot these days.

I hope it's minty mint, I'm waiting for it in the post, then I'll update. Ah, it looks I got it for a pretty good price even with the shipping then, cool.

It sounds like a nice LP to have. I've always been partial to Gatefold LPs, but isn't that the preferred style? I've wanted it for a long time, but I wasn't very old in 1997 so I had to do with the CD!

The only other LP I really need now is Raise The Pressure. Too bad the last Electronic & Monaco albums didn't get vinyl releases since they're both so good.

Yeah, you'll probably find that one is a bit rarer for some reason. I paid about 30 quid for mine four to five years ago through Ebay and there was competition.

A quick search now doesn't reveal any copies on Discogs or Ebay.

One just sold on ebay, but it wasn't in good enough condition for me to buy. I'll admit I'm a bit of a collector, I like to take good care of my stuff. I figure a good sleeve usually means a good record, and a bad sleeve a bad record. I know not every time sure, but I think for the most part.

It would be nice to see Monaco's 2nd album & Electronic's 3rd album released on vinyl at some point, but I doubt that will happen. The late 90s/early 00s was a bad time for collectors, there are a good few albums that didn't get vinyl releases, as well as some bad pressing of great albums. Oh well.

Got my copy of Monaco's debut in the post today, it's not exactly mint. There was still some plastic on it, but the first half of the gatefold sleeve, the opening had what looked like water damage and is ripply going down it. I'm not very happy, but overall it's near mint, so what can I say? I think I was overcharged a bit in light of this though! Great album though, and nice vinyl, so I'm sure to enjoy it. :)

Thank you to many for pointing me in the right direction. I still have not found or heard (Lab Rats Let Loose on the SeeSaw). Perhaps, that will just be the one that got away.
